So some people come to look at my Ranger to buy today, and I have been using it for the last week and its been running great, start it up today for like the 10th time, and went to put it into reverse, and it was super stiff, then pop, shifter moves like nothing and it will only go into one gear...I am thinking the shifter fork inside the tranny broke, sound about right? Is this a super expensive fix or ? Anyone out there willing to work a deal for broke ole me? was selling it cuz I need the money, so now I am kinda at a loss of what to do....thoughts?

Thanks
marlboroman
Did you check the exterior linkage? From the shifter to the outside of the tranny?
LaDSM
The good news is the trannys are seperate and come out pretty easy. look on Ebay for a Sportsman Quad tranny for a cheap replacement

The linkage is fine...definately let loose inside.
