Is it worth/possible to convert a 87 250x with a kick start to a 300 with a push button start??

its possible, but i doubt its worth it, a better swap would be to get a 350x atc motor to put into the 250x chassis, no electric start but tons of power

saw a add awhile ago for electric starters i seem to remember the 350X being one of the one offered . dirt wheels more than likely probaly 2 years ago . on a friends wifes 250X they changed the kick starter to a longer one to make kicking it easyer .

you can somtimes find new 350x motors for sale, they are motor that were taken out of atc's in late 86-87 when they cut them up(honda). they fetch around 1500 bucks usually. you can find used motors for around 500-1300. the 350x cylinder haeds are becomeing scarce, so the heads can be very expensive to replace and find, so keep that in mind when shopping.

Why swap out motors. If you want to switch to an electric start just get in touch with Goki Manufacturing in Chatsworth and order an electric starter for your 250x. It's a bolt on item that goes for something like 300 bucks. and you still have your kick start for a backup.
Goki's number is (818)998-0852
One thing you should know is that Goki doesn't supply the battery with there kits. But the batteries are standard and can be found at any local dealer

Thanks Mr. Dune...I'll give them a call...I was going to switch out the motor more for power than anything.....but I think I'll just leave that part alone for now....thanks again for the info!

Well...no go on the electric start for a 250x...they said they make it for the 350x, but not the 250x.....oh well.
