Were okay, thanks for the concern, we made it to the spider hole....power lines are down for several miles, most of my neighbors are completely totaled, we had to shoot a few of the neighbors horses (8 out of a herd of 55-60 at our next door neighbor, as well a few other neighbors lost some horses, cattle, one dog), none of the neighbors dead, a few injured....the most amazing thing happened, our home was undamaged, but our property suffered major damage on all four sides, my barn roof is completely gone, kiddos play fort totaled, a lot of trees busted up, my shipping container (holds my sandcar, conv vw and various other toys) weighs 15,000-20,000 lbs plus the cars inside was tossed about twenty feet. the pic of the busted shop is directly across the road, the homes are the next three neighbors to the East, I can't make it West to check on those neighbors yet.
My friend, Kevin, got one pic of our tornado and the car in the tree was the neighbor to houses down.
Glad to hear that you other Okies and Kansans are okay.
we are definitely putting in a very large hidey hole / spider hole, not very much fun stacked in like sardines, the roar of the tornado, the 200-300 mph winds, the crash of debris...but worst of all was the silence, it happens three times, first just before it hits, the second (when it's large enough) is when your in the eye (the middle) and third when it passes...and as the name implies hidey hole/ frady hole you don't want to stick your head out, foe fear of getting it knocked off, when we did emerge you could hear the roar moving East for the next 8-10 minutes.
Gotta go, taking coffee and chow to the neighbors, lots of reclamation and clean up to do.
Everyday above ground, is a good day

I think Piedmont got it the worst last night, they're what, 20 miles East of you? Wiped out an entire lake house community. Haskell got hit with a tornado as well, which is about 20 min. south of me, but I think it only took out a few businesses and some homes....

Thanks for all the concern, but were really in great shape, were so lucky, in fact were in such good shape, wifeys been making coffee and sandwitches / snacks and I'm the neighborhood delievery boy..gotta make a run to town for gas / 2 stroke oil (you two strokers just love that...zing, zing), bread, sandwitch fixins (probably grab a bunch of wally worlds deli subs). Tim
Yoshi, Yep Piedmont got hit hard, lot more congested houseing (there's a house every 2 1/2-5 acres...city slickers) and yep their about twenty miles NE of me.
On a sad note, my neighbor found two more folks that had drove into a tornado, driving on I-40, got dropped / thrown into the field behind our place.
On an educational note, if you have downed power lines, completely blocking you in, streched across your property, four feet off the ground, blocking you and your vehicle in. I discovered that you can slowly approach while listening for arcing power, and if you aim very carefully you can completely sever three power lines with only four 12 gauge slugs.

Hey Scat, don't believe it, I'm just a troop and my wifey orders me to do stuff, I don't dare say "no", I say "yes Ma'am" and move out...I'd much rather sit in the lawn chair and drink the ICB, but alas, that's not the life for a man that married a tyrant (she doesn't visit this site and I can be really brave). Oh yeah, shoulda seen her face when I told I was still leaving Thursday, to go fishing in San Felipe (hey, I already payed). Tim

Do I get to keep it? Yeah, yeah I know the answer, really appreciate the offer, but Okla and the electric companies are pretty tight, we break and they fix us...they completely replaced 6-8 miles of power poles and four power lines in under 8 hours and will have me back on the grid within the hour....wow, my electric companies customer service is second to none, have come to the house twice today just to explain the progress and keep us informed.
Sadly I was informed that one of the fellas that was found two miles down the road was a friend, Austin...he was young and a good guy to ride the river with.

Glad you made it out alright. I was in eastern Kansas when the twister came through Reading and spotted the wall cloud.
I was back in Western Kansas for yesterdays storm, holy crap I saw that one unfold it was a supercell for sure.
I have some family members that are storm chasers and this was recommended to me http://www.grlevelx.com/grlevel2/ if you are interested in seeing some real good radar.

I have friends and business associates in Joplin. I was finally in contact with them today. thank god it missed their plant, i have contracts in there. Not so good for many employees. 28 lost everything. 1 employee dead. My friend Larry, Tornado missed his house by 1 block.he and his wife were on the back porch, heard a sound like a giant electric blender the size of the empire state building. they ran into the center of the house. then the power went out. He says the Tornado literally cut the town in half. in his words, it's worse than you could possibly imagine x 5.

I have always told folks that I most associated the sound to a speeding train, but yesterday, on the plane, I decided that up to the point that it strikes building material it sound more like a jet spooling up, as it begins it's take off run...at least from underground. Tim
