No, they kept it green and tried to give it to him...they knew he couldn't win if he had to restart..

If Kyle was in the lead and Jr was 2nd they would have thrown the yellow...

Had they thrown the yellow, it would have been a restart and Jr would have been in the bottom 20...

The white was out, yellow and it was over...

the 31 spun on the restart, Jr hadn't taken the white yet..

How would nascar splain that one??, they should have thrown the yellow with 31 spinning, but NO yellow, Jr might finally win 1. frikin jr cant even win when they give it to him

I have to give him some respect....He knew that he did not have the winning car. And almost sounded like he was glad he did not win it that way.(post race interview)
A positive for him is that he had a top 5 car. That's a good sign for the 88 fans.

Agreed, it was a great night for june bug..this has been a great season for him, the best of his career...

Both races today had great finishes.

It sucked that my boy Jr came up short on fuel... But some times you live by the sword (last win) and sometimes you die by the sword ( tonight)...

He told it how it was in the interveiw and gave his team credit. he is looking at the big picture. Do I think he will win the tropy this year NO. But he is running well almost every race and that makes me happy. I never said he was the best I said he was good and he proving he is good...

Why is it that anyone who ses's Jr for what he really is, an average driver, they are labeled "haters?"

Come on, with the exception of this season, which has so so far been his best ever, he has always been average...OK, he did have one other above average year, way back when.

And no, Im not going soft for ole june bug, I just call it like it is. He has been average, now he is having his best ever career. But I still don't like him and think he's an arrogant prick living off his daddy's popularity. If he was anything BUT an earnhardt, he would be struggling for a decent ride, ala Past NASCAR champion Bobby LeBonte.

Jr does have opurtunities not afforded to other drivers... But I will ask you this Tom, if you were in Jr's shoes would you not take advantage of said opurtunities? Wether you like it or not racing is a buisness, and from a buisness stand point wether your a owner or sponsor Jr is gold. Sorry just calling it the way I see it. And he is good at it.

What bugs me, and I dont understand...is what the hell is the fascination with an average driver?

I don't get it either. A few years ago I went to Kannapolis, NC for some work training and the locals told me that all of the Earnhardts were assholes. They told me Sr was worse than Jr.

Years ago, I was at fontana watching practice...all the drivers pulled up along a fence lined with fans...

Fans were able to be within a few feet of the cars and could talk to their favorite driver while he waited to get on the track...

Every driver did it, and the fans would run up to their favorite driver and cheer him on...

well, every driver but June bug..

he was the ONLY driver who pulled up parallel to the fence with another car between him and the fans...

Jr. ran well but didn't deserve the win he almost got. But LOTS of drivers don't deserve the win they get. Harvick is one, even though I like Harvick.

But it made my day that Kyle ran out of talent not once, but twice!!!!

OK, so heres a question...

we are 1/3 of the way thru the 2011 nascar season.

Statistically speaking, Jeff Gordon is having the worst season of his career, with the exception of 2005 and 1993.

With the exception of his one win, he is at a career low in all categories this season, save for those to above mentioned seasons...


The opposite of that is, June bug is having is best season ever as far as average finish.

The common thread there is Steve LeTarte.

So the question is, will HMS continue to keep LeTarte with june bug in the hopes he can make something out of it while at the same time seeing hall of famer Jeff gordons career dwindle?

Will Gordon rebound and take his current CC to the level that LeTarte has reached?

Is Gordons season a once in a lifetime fluke?

Is Jrs season a once in a lifetime fluke?

Is it the CC that made BOTH drivers successful?
