Good progress Chris. Can't wait to see it all finished.
Hey, just noticed your trans color. Is that silver paint? Looks almost like aluminum, much better than flat black like mine.

Off the subject...but what spring rates are you running on the front of your car, and what are the length of the springs? Thanks

Doug,
The trans is powdercaoted silver. I did it last year while it was being rebuilt.

Demon2332,
They are 200 on both top and bottom and the length I beleive is 11" on the bottom and 10" on the top. I would still like a little more spring rate in the front so I might change the bottom to a 250?

To bad these dam things dont go back together as easy as they come apart.
Good luck with your project.

Hope you have better luck /w/ chrome than a friend of mine, He took his parts in the last week of April and still hasn't got All the pieces back and the pieces he is getting back are not in any order for him to put the car back together. He finaly got back enough last week to make it a roller but is still missing parts to get it to even start not a happy dunner.

rgordonfan,
Thanks for the info. I have the same car and I am pulling it apart now also. I have 250 on top and bottom and I love it. I may put a 275 or 300 on bottom just to get a little more spring rate on bigger jumps. I'm gonna ask Rich about it first though. Good luck on your teardown.

Tabs from the bottom. They were originally only welded from the top.

Good Job on the welding Chris. Is it just my opinion that the tabs should have been welded on both sides from the start?

Where did you find the pretty blue brake line clips? I've been looking everywhere for some! I need to get all my small stuff done. Thanks!

QG,
Yes they should have been welded on both sides from the start. It was a decission I made not knowing if I was going to like the floor pans mounted on the bottom. It would make it easier if I decided to change them. So now they are done right.

Ryno,
I got the brake line clamps from Tatum Motorsports. They make them in their own CNC shop. I would give you the web page but I don't want to advertise.

Just wondering if we could drop a line to one another to discuss costs overall. I am in the researching phase at this point and trying to get an outline of cost comparisons from buying new to building my own and saving some $ to buy better quality trans, engine and ect. Attached is my current rail.

Mgobyman, sure just send me a PM and I would be happy to discuss costs etc. I also have a list of prices for almost all the parts I have bought.
