I still feel bad about ramming the front of that car into my Dad's tool box in his garage when the thing was brand new.

Life lesson learned: ALWAYS check to make sure the trans is neutral before hitting the starter switch! blink.gif

JD, Obviously you're a happy camper icon_smile.gif ...I'm curious though...have you driven/ridden in one of the new ones? I'm just wondering how much difference there is between the different generations.

(yah..I know, probably about $20,000 icon_biggrin.gif )

Bob... I have driven my Dad's rail. And I drove a Gen 2 Big 5. And a Hustler 4. And a Gen 3 Big 5. And a Gen 4 Big 5. I can tell you this... they all worked very well, handled good, and were just all around great buggies.

But there is a huge difference. My Dad's Funco rides great and jumps great, much better than my own buggy by far. But when I drove Bohica's Gen 4 car I was absolutely amazed. MUCH better. WORLDS better.

Like all builders (or at least, most) Funco has bettered their product year after year. If I remember correctly my parents bought the fifth Big 5 ever produced. Funco has probably sold over 300 of them since (not sure on the exact number), and it's quite obvious they learned from experience how to make them better and better each time.

I better stop now before someone complains that I sound like I work for Funco. icon_wink.gif laughing.gif

Thanks KG..icon_smile.gif I guess I truly find it amazing how things have evolved so quickly. Take a look at a 9 year old daily driver street car, and compare it to a brand new one. Other than the new paint and interior, there just isn't such a quantum leap in the way they work as compared to what's happened with sand rails. Kinda makes you wonder what the next 9 or 10 years will bring...icon_smile.gif
