Full Version: Are We Creating A Eunuch Society?

I was thinking about Weiner and the VP out at LAX Michael Molina 'sexting' on their phones, and the resulting hubaloo. Have we become so victorian that men are not to even think about sex, let alone (gasp) try to get some? Are we as men supposed to forget that women have nice curvy soft bits, and just shut up and take out the garbage like good boys? The drive to procreate is so hardwired into us, that we start stressing out if we cannot act on at least some of our urges.

Mr. Molina hasn't said who he was 'sexting'(I hate that term), but what if it was his own wife? According to the rules, that makes no difference. But if a long term married guy is talkin naughty bits with his wife, I applaud him!

I feel we are becoming so anti-sex that we are losing who we are and what it means to be a sexual being. Unless of course, you are gay, but that is a whole nother show, Bob. And the media just plays up on it because anything with 'sex' in it sells more commercials.

What did either of them do that is so bad? It isn't like they were texting and missed a train signal.

Just once I would like the guy to come out and say "I like women" (or whatever) Hell, at least then that is honest. I could respect that.

Tired of the talking heads on this one. "Women in power 'do something'." Men in power need "to be somebody." Why not both?

No but we have a bunch of so called men who have no discretion, no sense of honor or respect. This has nothing to do with whether or not they like broads.......

Please elaborate, who is lacking discretion? The texters or the snoopers? Are you accusing the wiener or molina of lacking respect towards women? Hi Pot, Kettle here... broads... I like it!

Okay, I hear you... what about the nudes Blake Lively posted ON HER OWN PUBLIC Twitter account? I don't see anyone getting up in arms about that, hardly even mentioned on the entertainment news...

or is that because she is a girl and that's okay(I must admit, she is a lot hotter than Weiner or ID)?

BTW, weiner sent pics of his floppy to 6 people, not 'all across america'.

This country is much more interested in Weiners, Lady Gag Gay, Facebook and texting than tornado ragaged states, our public education system, health care system and getting our people out of the shit hole middle east.

and if you are in a high profile position, elected official, etc, you do have a different set of standards and rules you have to live by...

Carry on!!!

would your mom be happy if she caught your dad sexting?

The point that I am trying to make is that I would like to to think that some moral compass is required to assist in running this country.

don't forget also that sausage boy is married. That may not mean much to you...but it does me

wouldn't you like to brag that you are better than the French?

Sending pictures of your "johnson" is lame. Especially if you are in public office, recently married, with a pregnant wife..............this has nothing to do with liking women.

If my financial adviser was cheating on his / her spouse and lying to the world about it I'd wonder what else he / she is being less than truthful about. That kind of activity sets people up to be blackmailed and / or extorted. A person in Wiener's position can sway votes or act in the disinterest of tax payers if the BS they're doing in their private life is used against them. I have more of a problem with him lying about it than I do with the act itself, either way I wouldn't want him representing me. If a person's goal is "to procreate" then they should think about not entering in to a marriage contract which would free them up to text every skank in the free world.

Many marriages are monogamous, mine included. Never cheated, never will. But I also believe that if both parties agree, wtf am I or you to tell them how to live their lives. That does not make me morally weak.

There are many things that caused Rome to fall... you have yet to mention the lead lined wine jugs, the germans, the gov. corruption. Actually, when it came to sexual matters, the romans were in many ways, prudish.

I think the aussies have the upper hand when it comes to lack of modesty with Jr and the boys. In a bar in Mildura I saw about 5 blokes doing their best to get a good 'propeller' action going..... yes, beer was involved...

Personally, I do not want to know(or care) what my broker or adviser does outside 9-5, especially how he conducts his sexual life. We all have things in our lives that we do not want anyone else to know about, and I am all for advocating some discretion when it comes to reporting private matters.

Just out of curiosity, what is your response when Christianity is listed as one of the causes for the decline of Rome?
Dave Surrett
Weiner lied about sending the pictures. He claimed he was hacked. That's a government employee lying to the public. Imagine if the FBI had opened an investigation about a congressman being hacked (which they should have). That would have been a huge waste of resources.

Then he went on to (or some other liberal did and Weiner did not correct it) slander Andrew Breitbart and accuse him of framing Weiner. Add another count of dishonesty for that one.

Also, he didn't use discretion; he broadcasted that picture for all his Twitter followers to see (albeit on accident). When I get a government security clearance, they do a background check to make sure there's nothing about me that could be used against me as blackmail.

The fact that Weiner concealed this, and also lied about it, means he obviously didn't want people to know, which means it made him susceptible to blackmail. Not the type of person I want representing my country. I have zero problem with him sending those type of pics to people as long as he has his wife's consent, but the minute it became public do to his incompetence it became a problem for me.

This has nothing to do with how sexually liberal I am or I want the country to be. For me, it has to do with this guy lying to the public and behaving irresponsibly.

it not the act that got him in trouble. it was the lies he comiited to cover it up that sealed his fait.. if he would of just came out and said it was me, blah blah blah, we would of moved on and he would still have his job.

BeachHead
I don't think the issue is (or at least should be) about men liking "dirty talk" with women. (Rumor has it there are even some women who like that sort of thing with men..<gasp!!>) To me, there are two real issues here.

First, he's in a position of leadership. When you become captain of a ship, you have to accept that you're not going to be going out drinking with the deckhands every night anymore. You have to set the example because you are the one who will be meting out the punishment, and therefore, if you want to maintain that leadership role, you best keep yourself above reproach. And the LAST thing you better get caught doing is lying, cause you will lead no more.

The second reason is intermingled with the first. Admittedly, it takes a lot to fire a government employee. But there are a couple that are so blatant that if a government employee engages in an act like fraud, abuse of government property, etc. that outright firings do occur. Using a government communications system to send "adult" material and/or doing so on company time happen to be two that there is pretty much zero tolerance for. Speaking specifically of Weiner, he crossed that line, and if our government officials weren't so morally corrupt, would suffer the same fate as Joe-Bob-Suzy employee.

The sex thing has been going on since God made man and women, and all the pussified and politically correct wanna-be's can whine and cry and jump up and down, but they aren't going to change it. If we continue to put these idiots and fools into office, they might drive them underground (think homosexuality 50 years ago), but they are going to exist no matter what those who think they know what's best for everyone want. Perhaps if we keep those type of air breathers busy banning chocolate milk and other such nonsense, they will eventually get tired, and go crawl back under the rock from whence their cowardly behinds came from..icon_wink.gif
