in the truck trader in arizona someone has a truck for sale and it comes w/ a watercooled 86 250R w/ a new engine. how much do u guys think that would be worth, just a stock 250r with a new engine? it probably would have been worth a lot more about a year or 2 ago since everyone wants a yfz now but i am just curious. thanks

They are going for anywhere between $3200 and $3600 here in San Diego.

A lot depends on the condition of the overall bike - frame, swingarm, plastics, tires, etc. What does "new engine" mean? Is it a whole new engine, meaning a complete rebuild of the transmission and the top end, or is it just a honing of the cylinder and new rings? They could go anywhere from $2500 up to $6000 (not that I'd pay that). You really need to inspect these bikes well before you buy them. Some people have kept them in immaculate condition, others are real junk.

I've got an '89 TRX250R that I'll be selling soon. The transmission and top end were just completely rebuilt - to the tune of about $1100. I'll probably be putting it in the trader for somewhere between $4000 and $4500.

they can go from anywhere from 2-5 grand depending on the condition of the quad....

the 88-89's tend to get more than the 86-87's

If it's a 3 wheeler... anywhere from $1,000 - $2,000

EH, HE WAS TH EORIGINAL OWNER, AND HE KEPT IT UP QUITE NICELY. TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, HE DIDNT WANT TO GO ANY LOWER, AND ITS NO TLIKE H EHAD TO SELL IT EITHER. IT WAS JUST IN THE WAT, AND TOO TEMPTING FOR HIM TO RIDE IN THE DUNES, BUT HE HAS KIDS NOW, SO HE DIDNT WANT TO HURT HIMSELF ON IT.... BUT IT WAS A NICE BIKE....

yeah i havent seen it yet but was thinking of offering him something for it if it looks good and if its the quad. so if it is in good condition then i think i might offer him about 500-1000, see if he takes it. thanks
