The company I work for is in the process of hiring plumbers, pipefitters, sheet metal installers & I just found out yesterday Welders. They are located in San Diego off of the 52.

I spoke with our HR director today. He said for the welders you must be certified. If you apply let them Emily referred you.

I will find out tomorrow on exactly what certifications for welding are being requested.

All types of certs will only help you. We have some very big jobs and are in need of good welders for these jobs. Talk to Rick he will fill you in on everything.

Yes we will train anyone that is willing to learn. We even send people to ABC training.

These are the welding requirements- Tig weld stainless steel 316L, sched 40, 80, 160 wall thickness, using 1/8"
open root with J bevel, knife edge or 37 degree bevel & preps. Pipe size 1/2" - 2" NPS. All joints will be 100% X-Ray. In accordance with ASME section IX & B31.3 codes.

They would like to know
1. Where did you work to gain experience for the above req's?
2. How long?
3. Where did you learn Tig welding skill at?
4. Any weld certs in the aboce process?
5. Last time you welded using above process?
6. Are you familiar with purging pipe for welding
7. You will be required to pass a 2" NPS sch 80 1/8" open root test that will be x-rayed prior to being hired. Will you be able to take & pass
8. Any experience tig welding socket weld joints, stainless steel & carbon steel that will be visual & PT inspected
9. Do you own your own tig torch
10. What other weld processes are you proficient with & can pass testing with
11. SMAW, using 1:8" open root 6010, remaining 7018, all uphill
12. FCAW
13. GMAW
14. Can you fit pipe? What is your experience & training with this
(shielded metal arc weld, flux core arc weld, gas metal arc weld)

Nah just normal guys. We are a BIG company with a small feel. No ballers here.
