Ok not sure what I did here. I started the engine and the gen. while i was pluged in to shore power and now my converter quit charging the batterys. Did i some how blow out the converter? and if I did any idea on a cheep place to get a new one? the only way i can charge the batterys now is by running the engine.

Thanks

Check fuses before you buy anything. Either on the converter or at the fuse panel and at the batteries

I was told long ago by an electrical specialist to have the inverter/charger off before plugging into shore power, then turn the charger back on.

Hey Danno, the convertor should have one or two 12 volt fuses located on the top or bottom of the convertor. Some convertors have a set screw that has to be loosened before you can remove the fuses. To test convertor operation, first ensure that it has 110 volts AC power supply via the power cord, then use 12 volt testor to check convertor output. If no 12 volt output and convertor fuses test good, unit is defective and needs rplacement. About $140.00 at Camping World.

Good luck, John
