So...after a month and a half, I actually had a couple hours to work on the rail today. Woohooo...so, I figure I'll tackle wiring up the front lights. Now how do I get them wires from one end of the tube to the other, and most importantly, out that little hole in the end?
Well, I tried to fish the wire out by putting a hook on the end of some MIG wire and trying to hook it and fish it down to the other end...ugg...I just couldn't get it to hook strong enough to get it out the end. So, I tried several silly, yet innovative ideas..that didn't work. Finally, I came upon one that did. This worked for me, but I'm sure there are easier ways to do this...(and other things):
1. Took some general twine, and "blew" it down the tube a ways with a blow gun on the air compressor.
2. Took that mig wire with a small hook and shoved it from the opposite end down twords the twine.
3. I was able to tell I was in the right area by seeing the twine "twitch" as I hooked it.
4. Gently pulled the twine to the end, and out the hole
5. Taped the wire to the end of the twine tightly (sort of like pulling wire though electrical conduit)
6. Pull gently, feeding both ends to keep wire from getting caught and stripping insulation.
7. The wire then pulled out the hole with the string.
(oh alternating between prayer and 4 letter words seems to insure things go well too!!)
So...what other tricks you got up your sleeve to make the whole assembly process go smoother?

Keep the twine moving - Add a shop vac to the end and pull/suck the twine the rest of the way through..

you might also try getting some help from Las Vegas, but that might ruin all your fun.....

I used the welding wire and hook with a smaller piece of wire method, tried the twine thing, didnt work for me, but I didnt use a shop vac either, probably would have worked then

best way is to pay someone else to do it

It is a pain in the A$$ either way. Never had any luck with the string, I use bailing wire. Some of my parts I put the wire in before I welded the tube in, left the wire in while getting powdercoated. Actualy I put two wires in case one screwed up. I did the same thing when I cut the back of my car off for the
S-5 transaxle. My son Jeff is real good at fishing out the wire on the other end.
LATER DON~~~
Welding wire in the tubes works well.If it keeps coming undone put alittle tape around the end just make sure the tape wrap is tight and not to big.Good luck!

Revenge puts welding wire in all the tubes.. Hoping this wont be a problem.. HOPING..
BeachHead - Hurry up and finish - that was its all still fresh in your brain there, and you can come over here and get started on my assembly..
One tip on painted side panels is to wrap them in a soft blanket and them wrap stretch wrap around them then when you place them were you are storing them the blanket won't fall off. There also won't be any dust dirt or anything else that would be flying in the air on them with that tight seal.

Brake lines...
Dont go cheap on the bender and the flare kit. The flare kit CopDawg used said to double flare it and later we found out not only was that impossible - you only needed a single flare.
Revenge has these bitchen billit clamps for dual lines and single lines that tap the frame and hold the lines just off the frame and straight. Very clean looking and easy to work with.
Wiring is where I know Im screwed. Gonna be hitting up everyone and anyone I know for that shiz..

Trust me.. I know - Hey wire solutions is in my place every thurs for poker.. Im working the angle for sure.. and hoping I can learn a thing of three.
BeachHead, When we do wires on tuna towers we use the string and air trick, but we tie a small piece of a plastic bag to the end that goes in the tube. The other trick is to put a small piece of duct tape over half of the hole where you want it to come out. When you blow air through the tube and feed the string the little plastic strip will stick to the tape and there you have it. The tubes on the sandrails might be small but this should still work....86
