[FONT=Arial][SIZE=1][COLOR=blue] I want to have the cylinder head on my banshee milled to make it faster but I don't know how much to have taken off. Some people are telling me around .020 and others are telling me around .040, but i don't know. Have any suggestions?...

What shop are you taking it too? Ask them what options you have. If you have it milled a lot, you will have to use race gas because the compression will be raised more.

I'm just going to take it to a local machine shop. I'm not really worried about using race gas, I just want to get the most power i can and still have my bike be pretty reliable without haveing to change a whole lot.

there are a lot of factors to consider when you start trying to do mods to your bike. Two-Stroke motors can be really fussy, and if you do one change that you think is not a big deal, you might start a snow-ball effect of things that will need to be done to make it run right again.
There are a lot of people out there that do some amazing things with motors, especially Banshee motors. Do research!!!

your best bet would be to call an engine builder and see what they recomend with your mods and/or future plans....

Save your self the headache and keep your stock head and buy a aftermarket head and mess with the domes till you find what you want! It`ll cost you at least 80 to millit and might not be what you want!

The only problem is that I'm a little tight on cash at the moment and I can't find a good aftermarket head at a good price..... or I would definately go get one.

Wait till you get enough $ to do it right.

Get the Coolhead with the 19cc domes, you'll be good.

Will I have to change anything else?

No, besides pipes. If you are looking for a little more power, I would suggest the K&N pod filters on each carb, the coolhead and pipes. This would give good reliable power, although some people dont like the K&N's, I have had mine for 5-6 seasons without any sand in the carbs. Good luck.

I have a K&N single filter and a set of Bills pipes......... Will that work?
I'm also trying to find a good deal on some FMF Fattys I seem to like those better than the Bills

I also have Bills pipes, I like them better then the fattys but less then the T5's. With the single K&N, do you have the airbox lid off?? If not, you may want to consider, but you will have to rejet the carbs, but worth it. Banshee's like to breathe. It sounds like all you need is the Coolhead, then later you can have the jugs ported, weld the crank, etc, etc.

I have the airbox lid on, but I have holes cut in it to allow for more air. I almost forgot about the T5's....... I think they might be better.....

Milling the stock head without modifing the domes to achieve the correct squish area is asking for trouble.
Also, increased compression without removing the crank and welding the pins might lead to premature crank failure. Increase compression is a leading cause of decreased engine life.
I'd suggest waiting until you financial situation improves and do the job right.

That all depends on HOW MUCH you mill. Of course too much compression will strain the crank, but a mild mill or 19cc domes will not hurt a thing.

I think that I will probably wait until I can afford to buy a cool head and go with some 19cc domes or so
