Red-Tailed Hawk

You can witness the graceful soaring of the Red-Tail Hawk throughout the year in the Algodones Sand Dunes.

You may even see them standing atop a dune ridge overlooking washes and low rolling dunes in search of prey. There are quite a few Red-Tailed Hawks living on or around Glamis. Evidence shows that they mate for life, live over 20 years, and will nest in the same place year round.

Excellent. I have seen Mr. Red Tail, everytime I have gone out to G. Of course that has only been about 4 or 5 times.... But then I only started this year, thanks to BeachHead.....

Mr Red Tail has a very special place in my heart.. Ive studied and watched this bird for many years now before Glamis was in my life and am even more thrilled hes a Glamis member.
I have a family that live and hunt in the lot in front of my house - You can see him in several places including right by coppers house in Romona.
They are often confused with the Paraguin Falcon (sp) - but when he speaks - you know its him..

The bird show at the wild animal park have a pretty good size part of the show dedicated to him also.. icon_smile.gif

Thanks Slappy - Cant wait till this year when the young grow and the old show us their wisdom in the dunes.

I saw Mr. and Mrs. Red Tail flying along with us as we traveled in the dunes the day before the big golf tourney weekend. They were absolutely beautiful soaring through the sky above the sand.

I love Mr. and Mrs. Red Tail wub.gif
