ok this is an age old question since chrome was invented for exhausts. does it mean anything if your chrome on you exhaust is bluing right out of the engine exhaust flange. someone told me that means im running too lean. but i have riddin my bike hard and long enough that if i was too lean i would have seized my engine along time ago. and if nothing is wrong does anyone know of something that can clean and polish the exhaust without causing the pipes to smoke when they heat up?

Ceramic coating is the only way to keep the blue out. IMO. [Smokin]

i have my banshee pipes ceramic coated......works great. One of my sponsors [Big Grin] [Big Grin] has a new coating out (they did all of my ceramic)that they are claiming is much better than ceramic i will see it in the next week or so so i cant claim to the looks yet

It's pretty normal for the chrome to turn blue. If it turns blue in a very short time, it could mean a few things, a cheep pipe with cheap chrome or maybe the engine is running a touch lean. The second is easier to tell on multiple cylinder engines where one turns blue before the others.

hmm, my left pipe on my banshee turns a little bit more blue than the right... I bought the damn thing from Alba, though, so it should have been all jetted oorrectly and ready to go. I also notice that on the left pipe, there is a little bit more 'spooge' coming out of the back than the right.

That sounds like a personal problem. Maybe you should start sitting on the seat to ride it. [Disturbed]

so what everyone is sayin gis that if the pipes come with the stock chrome (i.e. the chrome on FMF)then it will blue unless you get them jet coated?

If you want to get rid of the blueing go to your local harley shop or look online for a product called "blue job". It'll take you half the day of scrubbing the chrome but it will take away most of the blueing and yellowing. My Toomey's look as good as new and after correct jetting and 4 long weekends the blueing hasn't returned!!

ahh huh huh huh....he said blue job
