Full Version: Hole In One Insurance With A Sand Car Twist.

I am a independent claims adjuster. Part of what we do is marketing to various carriers, etc.

There is an upcoming golf event that is my target market. We lovingly refer to the sand car as “The Well Adjusted” and the ATC as “Full Denial.” For a marketing deal, I am thinking of giving away my sand car and my ATC 70 for a hole in one prize.

To do that you buy a policy of insurance based on the yardage, and the total number of participants. Assuming about 200 participants the premium would be about $700.00. If somebody gets a hole in one, they get the sand car and I get $25,000.00. Clever way to sell the sand car if they win, and figure it might be fun marketing if not.

Anybody have any experience with this type of deal, and specifically anybody ever make a claim against a carrier for this or win a prize like this?

Thanks in advance.

If you have the $700 sitting around then get the insurance. Most of the vendors putting up hole in one prizes in the tourneys I run keep the insurance money and take the chance as the odds are with you. The shorter easier par threes are often the best bet as people who can actually reach the green tend to choke (chili dip or yank the shot right or left) whereas the longer par threes tend to have people hitting "worm burners" which role up to the hole. The price for insurance may go up if the club pro is playing.

yeah wasnt saying anything about your car- we did stuff like this at the dealership and got way more $ for stuff and then raffled it off. owers loved doing stuff like this. easy money.

alot easier with smaller priced items thou if you dont have a ton of people interested.

Are you getting out or upgrading?
I love the ATC! Would be fun to have one of those.

Neither, but it someone does hit, I want enough to buy again.

So if there are fewer participants, then I assume the premium goes up ?? Also, do the players need to buy a ticket to participate in the hole in one or is it part of the tounament fee. I have seen it both ways. Good luck and have fun.

No, more shots I would figure more premium. Never thought about a buy in - I would only sponsor the hole. Essentially, business card, hand shake, etc for entry.
