My step son posted something really stupid on my page because I didn't log out. I have his password now and can't decide what to do. Change password, post something stupid? Leave it alone and keep password to read his messages?

You can do both if you time it right. Wait til he is on a computer at home on FB. Even if he logs out, log in and post something and say that he left it on. Then he wont know you have his password and you can keep track of him.

If you go change his password, you need to change his email address for his profile. All he would have to do is send a "cant remember password" request and they email him a reset.
