We just got done doing that race at ET. It was FAST! 5th gear the entire time and almost on the rev limiter at the end of the straights! Hope they have us quads there again.
It's a blast riding the quads (& Teryx) around town "legally". Buddy of mine used to ride his Z400 to work every day. Said he used to get 28mpg.
Currently in the planning ($$$$) stages of getting a street legal quad together with a street bike motor. It'll still be a while but I'll post pic's with progress WHEN I get that far. For now the pic would be of a single dollar bill 'cuz that's all I got so far (& I had to borrow it).

Are you getting your raptor street legal. what do we need to do to make it street legal other than get a rearview mirror and inspection? do they check to see if your tires are DOT approved? your tires look bitchen too!

go to an independent title company. Get your offroad plate and offroad tag which I think is 25.00, then get the on road tag which is an additional 5.00 if I remember right..Tell them it is primarily offroad but you want the on road endorsement. If you tell them you want it street legal then get the offroad tag is will cost you 3 times as much

What that does is makes it where it is registered for offroad, but when you need to ride it on the street to get to the next trail, get gas, or whatever, it is legal. Which means you can ride it all over town with no issues.. No inspection, just sign a waiver.. All it needs it a mirror and a horn (which I don't have ahorn) but I have not been hassled at all..
edit to add mine has been street legal for over 2 years.. oh, and you need insurance, but that is way cheap. Costs me around 100 a year..

Here is a sneak peek at mine. I picked up the project bike and just got some parts. Yes, when you see the pictures its got dirt tires on the back and sand tires on the front. Thats because one of the front wheels (with dirt tires) was severely bent. And yes, the left rear tire is low because it has a leak. So basically all the tires I got with it were pretty much toast except the front sand tires and the c-series wheels. The exhaust looked and sounded empty, like an open pipe all the way. That was the first thing to go. The 6 pack rack is coming off as well as the plastics and the c-series wheels, they will all be for sale.

Got the new kicks and 1 1/2 inch spacers on the rear today. mocked up my horn button and mirror. decided the mirror is not going to work there. tomorrow maybe I'll make it to emmissions and then get my street legal sticker for the plate. If I had more time and mechanical skill I think I would strip it and get the frame re-done in black. more to come!!
