Just got a call That Ron died of a heart attack last week, This guy made Top Fuel Hydro what it was and will be known for keeping it alive, he was very timid in the pits , but put a seat belt on him and he drove one of those things on its side more than upright, always balls to the wall, lined up with him many times and you better have been on your game, or he was gonna spank you. my condolences to all.

He was my favorite driver and boat. I use to watch him at Puddingstone back in the day.

He and Tom Black in Final Effort kept it alive at Puddingstone for about 4 years when noone else would join in, it was a bad ass show and convinced us to join in.

my wife told me last week when she got the call. you know her. i married mike "the maniac" ishams daughter stacey. you know, that old fart that used to tech for the ihba?

definitely sad. he was the man in his day. he never seemed to be the same after hippy's crash. i remember them being the top dog to beat. 4.90's were the norm for gazoo and the crew. what really weird, is we were driving down the freeway about two weeks ago, and my wife spotted him in the car next to us. 2 weeks later, and here we are.

on a positive note, are you racing the california hot rod reunion this year? looking forward to seeing you throw down a pass. you did it in wildside, no reason high voltage cant do it...

Scared the hell outta me too!

NJBA is having a celebration of life for Ron on Sept. 10th at 7pm at Lake Elsinore for anyone who wants to come. They are racing in the channel that weekend and Madness is going to try to be there as Ron had just finished the boat to take out for a spin!
