This is one of my first posts on the board and I may be asking a question/rumor that has already been addressed, but when if ever does Honda plan on releasing an alluminam frame quad with the 450 powerplant? I would like to know this and if they are planning a release in the near future, were can I get info (websites, magazines, etc.) My concern comes from the fact that I have seen Honda wait in the "wings" with 4-stroke technology on dirtbikes (CRF450), personal watercraft (Honda's new turbo-charged ski) to eventually blow away the competition. I would regret to buy a new quad now only to see a new Red beast owning the dunes shortly. Thanks!!

actually i heard the same thing when that motor first came out but honda dealers had n part in the bike. they said they werent thnking about making it cuz they designed the motor as a dirtbike motor. the motor worked great in a honda frame but it was for purely experiment. i havent heard of this bike coming out soon. but i have been known to be wrong. but that was once [Wink] i would love to get my hands on one of those bikes if they come out with it.

That rumor was out last year and again Honda disappointed. They did come out with a new quad meant for work not play.Every Sept. is when Honda has the big show.Their website is a good start but they wont tell you anything until they are ready.I wouldnt hold my breath if I was you.Have you seen the Suzuki Z400 or Yamaha Raptor?Hands down better than anything Honda has today.

That was such a disappointment. Honda had something on their website saying "come back on September bla blah for a preview of next year's exciting new models." Then it turned out to be a utility quad. Hooo-frickin-ray. [Roll Eyes]

There was a discussion somewhere that said Honda was waiting until they cleared out all the 400ex's first, before releasing a new model. This makes sense, since I beleive they did the same with the 85 1/2' Odesy, when I bought mine brand new in 86' or '87, it was explained to me that Honda ramps up productions, builds thousands of units, then shuts down the operation, stores the vehicles and sends them out as needed. Don't know if this still holds true...

I'll take some credit for that! A buddy's friend works at American Honda and that's what he blabbed. icon_bouncy.gif
