Shot a precision rifle match over the weekend. I'm having a blast with this. Any others on here into this? This match was in Ash Fork AZ. Steel targets from 200-1100 yds, Dueling tree, and had a surprise after the match....
Here was the surprise after the match....it's a 40"x48" plate at 1 mile!

Nick, quit laying in the dirt and get to work on your bug!
Just mes'n with ya. What riffle are you using? I've shot at some distance, but not that far with my M77 Ruger with only a Leapold 3-9x40

I was shooting my 20" Remington 700 in .308. Has a leupold 4.5-14x50.
Here's a new build I'm waiting to get back, it's a r700 6.5 creedmoor.....

Looks like a fun place to shoot.
I go to piru and shoot 1000yds to easy with a 338 edge. Been thinking of getting a new toy in 338 lapua or a 50dtc for those extra long shots.

Did you hit the plate ?
X2 also do you use a program for wind and drop or is it all free hand?

Yes the plate was hit. There was even a guy that took some shots at it with a .223 gas gun and with a whole lot of luck landed a hit. The guys with the .338 lapuas made it look easy, the guy that runs the match hit 5 in a row with his .260. We are shooting the next match at this same place and will get more time after the match to play at a mile again.
I have a couple programs on my phone I use as well as a PDA with a program called field firing solutions

That's freaking sweet! I'd love to get back on a long range and drop some lead down at targets at 500 + Yards! Old School USMC style there was no such thing as programs or scopes! We were hitting long range able targets through steel sights with nothing more than our dope book and windage flags...

It's actually being built local here. The round I'm using is a 6.5 creedmoor.
