I heard that last weekend someone got into a wreck at Lake Elsinore MX and died... does anyone know what happened?
Effinbees77
My Sis & family were driving into the track when an accident happened. They saw two people crash in to each other. They weren't riding on the track, just through the pits. Plus, she said they weren't really going that fast either. One wasn't wearing a helmet. Later on in the morning people were coming by everyones pit area asking if anyone was missing a 5 year old who was riding a motorcycle. My Sis said the kid looked more like 15. Still, they couldn't find their parents / guardian. Hour or so later people are STILL going by pit area's looking for the parents. Last we heard they had to ventilate them because they weren't breathing on their own.
My info is only "he said, she said" at this point.
I pray your info is incorrect and everyone is ok, but it doesn't sound good.

I just heard about it yesterday... I was told that whoever it was that got hurt died the next day... but that's all I heard.

same sorta thing happened at the GNC TT at Ashtabula this weekend.....A guy riding an 'unknown' pit vehicle ran over a 10 year old kid (this was 730pm or so, well after the races)....they suffered a dislocated hip and a broken fibula. With all this careless pit riding we will be losing pit riding privledges all togethor.....

eff the owner of that track...that jerkoff does not care about people..he is in it for the money....I am avid about having places to ride...but this zoopark is a prime example of greed and mis-management...hope they do sue the hell outta the park...they should be having more ENFORCED rules and people ejected for not following them...I was there once...never even unloaded the bikes....EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW PERSONALLY WHO HAS RIDDEN THAT TRACK HAS BEEN HURT THERE...AND EVERY TIME, WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE, GOT RUN INTO BY SOMEONE ELSE..... sorry guys, but that is my 2 cents about Elsinore.....
when I visit my grandpa I can sit in his backyard on the lake and count a medical response about every 30 minutes..like clockwork..on the weekends.....shame on the owner of that place... greedy bastard..... angryfire.gif
SHOCKER
Im sure there shall be many harsh rules but the owner cant help it if someone doesnt feel like following the rules, like everytime i rode in the pits i made sure there was no one around me and i always wore a helmet, i just think there should be rules saying slow riding/10mph or something around there, and if not follwed they will get a warning and if it happens a second time they will be kicked from the park for the day, if its at night the next day, and then if it happens another time after they have come back then they shall be banned

IF they were in fact speeding:

My family and I survive Olds everytime we go to Glamis. I stay on guard at all times while there, same as at the track.

Lake Elsinore puts up the signs and the warnings, and has you SIGN for them - if someone wants to break the rules, get mad at them, not the track.

I feel for the people that got hurt and for the kid that died, but if they got hurt while breaking the rules, how is it anybody's else's fault?

If you were the track owner, put up signs everywhere, had people sign for the rules, and someone got hurt breaking the rules you really think you are responsible thier actions? (it is a rhetorical question.)

I've been to the track maybe a dozen times. I haven't seen that many pit accidents (ever had an accident in camp at Glamis?) but I have seen way too many people riding over their skill levels and getting into trouble.

I also don't see how much money someone is making on a business affects thier level of responsibility. It should be the person's actions that affect that, not thier bank account - they are either responsible or they are not.

If someone slammed into my kid while speeding, I wouldn't blame the track, I'd be in jail.

the track has an obligation to the general publics safety...with that said, what is the safe number of riders on a given track? What does elsinore saY it is? Like any business, there is obligation. If a bleacher holds 500 seats, and, say, a concert promoter sells 600 tickets...then the bleacher collapses, killing someone or many, you are saying that the business is not responsible? I can prove liabilty on these grounds in any court.....regardless of signatures waiving rights....you are waiving rights to understand that there is danger present..not waiving rights for owner negligence.....howz this...I own a racetrack..you sign a waiver understanding that this is a dnagerous sport..and what you did not know was that my catch fence was built to withstand a car hitting it at 150 MPH..but I sanction races where cars do 200...I am not liable? BS......its called known liability.....and faluire to respond to correct it...which is what elsinore has been doing for a long time.....
SHOCKER
Well its like the the streets of california, one drunk driver drives home after taking so many drinks at a bar and kills someone, what is there to do ya cant stop all of them ya know, but making stricter rules does help

My post started out "If in fact they were both speeding..." which qualified the rest of what I was trying to say.

To better explain my opinion, any other factors aside, if the owner of the business posted specific rules, both individuals broke those rules, those individuals should bear the responsibility of deciding to break the rules, not the business owner.

The amount of income one makes should not determine their liability, only their actions or inactions.

Other factors, such as overcrowding, were not applicable in this case from what I can tell. If overcrowding was in fact happening at the time it would have added a portion of liability to the business owner, but only a portion.

I really haven't seen that many pit accidents, in fact that is the first I have heard of. Yes the EMTs do respond often, I have seen them on numerous occaisions, which were from simple crashes to (most often) people riding over thier heads.

It is amazing to me how many dads put their under 10 year olds on two stroke 80s and 100s, and how many 35+ year olds think they are 20 again!

I just don't think you can regulate poor judgement. Would have five more employees slowing people down have stopped this? I dunno. Lots of cops on the roads but people still speed.

More info now available: According to two of my friends that watch it happen right in front of them, neither of them were driving very fast, they just decided to drive around the same bush at the same time and ran head on into each other.

Very sad story.

good points I agree....much validity to what you are saying...it is very sad..and yes, parents do not take responsibilty for their kids these days......which is a major problem in the off roading community.
I can't tell you how often I have come across young girls in the middle of no where..and thought..what the eff do these girls dads think???? STUPID PARENTS.... I watch my kids like all other warm blooded animals do...very carefully..and always within ear shot or sight....because I love them and IT'S MY JOB TO PROTECT AND TEACH THEM....
