My short story....

I recently was on a dune trip and rode a friends ATC 70, It is a real piece of work in progress but he is working on it, It has a Pitster E start 110.... what a kick that was...

I never should have rode it....

A week after being home I did a side job for a friend that had 2 of them.... I now own both of them.... This is a disease....

I have did some looking around, and then called Gordy and got the low down on the Piranha 140.... Disease I tell you...

So far I have stripped the bike down, cut and Raked the neck 5 degrees, cut the foot pegs apart rotated them and am in the process of building the pegs

Going to order some new bars and bar risers, tires, levers and some misc. stuff...

I am looking for a Cobra pipe if anyone has one for sale. I want to build my own exhaust but wold like to use one of those silencers...

Sure I am going to have some questions as this progresses...

Cheers!!

Welcome to the sickness. You are off to a good start. sounds like you have it right. that 140 is sweet. I like the trans in the Piranha engines. I have a 150E and it is a night and day difference from my 140 Lifan. Rev way quicker and the shifts are quick and solid. If you are cutting the frame and putting that engine in I would also stretch it 2 or 3 inches while you are at it. Gordy's pegs are sweet if you don't want to do the work. Real nice LED offroad lights on ebay for around $80 a pair. One does the job on a 70. Post up pics. see you out there.

I was thinking that also, but it is only 5*. I think with no motor in the pics it looks decieving also. From the mock up I did it increased tire to head clearance by a little over 1". I also figured that I can move it back if it is too much without any problems.

OK time for some questions...

I purchased my motor the Pitster Pro GPX 140
http://shop.pitsterpro.com/gpxmoto140xcrateengine.aspx

Anyone have any experience with this? Talk about no help nothing in the box but the parts no instructions on anything.. after questioning myself on a bunch of things I found out that I have recieved the wrong CDI and wiring harness.....

I am going to build an intake since the one that came with it will not clear my tank, can I get a shorty from a vendor here and trim some fins on the motor?

What about the oil cooler lines? where do they even connect on this motor? there is 2 banjo bolts on the head with a bypass line between them, however the lines provided with the motor have seperate size ends on them one end like a 10mm banjo fitting that fits the cooler and the other is like a 8mm banjo fitting that must fit on the motor somewhere?

Holy crap this is a learning experiment to say the least....
