County Leaders Propose Off-Road Ban On Private Property
(Note: Please think about the implications to a farmer/rancher using such vehicles for the day-to-day operation of a business. Think about what you think property rights mean, and if this proposed county-wide ordinance fits your description. If you have contacts in Pima County, Arizona, this one needs to be nipped in the bud, pronto! Needed: New county leaders!)

A ban may be in the works in Pima County [Arizona] on what you are allowed to do in your own backyard.
County leaders have taken a step that could eventually ban the use of off-road vehicles on private property.
The proposal has been brought before the board by planning and zoning, because east side residents complained about a neighbor who runs a track on his 10-acre parcel.
A county ordinance would ban off-road vehicles in residential zones.
Debbie Anderson works nights as a nurse. Sometimes the noise keeps her awake when she needs her sleep. But to her, safety is what's more important.
"I have seen small kids riding small motorcycles, which is not good, without helmets," said Anderson.
"We need to see a lot more people wearing helmets, protective gear," said Russell Hacker, a rider. "Quit ripping up and down neighborhood roads for sure. Walking the bikes across the road, stuff like that."
Hacker says he's part of a majority of riders who do things right. He says it's getting tough to find good space to ride ATVs, and a county ordinance would make it a lot tougher. He thinks it's an overreaction.
"That's going a little far, especially if you own 10 acres. I can understand after 10 o'clock at night, something like that, but if it's during the day, start it up 8 o'clock in the morning, go ahead and go, you know? I don't see any problem with that at all."
