Being able to walk, and spend another day with the wife and kids.. 4 years ago I was in Desert Regional Trauma center, lying in intensive care from an accident at Glamis.. After recovering from that.. "every day, a holiday".. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Now go give your spouse and kids a hug, kiss, and tell them you love them.. Either you or them could be gone in an instant..Gush session over..

My family and friends of course. Very thankful for my health that allows me to continue to work for a better future.

Eventhough i will be spending the day alone, i will keep all of my family and each of you in my thoughts.

Happy Thanksgiving and be safe.

Hmm...

my Creator, my health, my family, my friends, and having a job. But I try to be thankful for those every day, as without those, it's a cold hard world...smile.gif

I'm thankful to God for everything in my life that he has provided for me. Family, friends, health, knowledge, and ability. From those God given gifts I'm thankful for having the intelligence to have insurance on me, my family, and my belongings. Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Aflac, and American Family all saved me big time this year...

Totaled car: American Family
Uninsured Driver: American Family
Motorcycle accident injury: Blue Cross / Blue Shield
Motorcycle accident injury financial help: Aflac
Wife's mini stroke injury: Blue Cross / Blue Shield

All the love, time, and labor needed to recover and heal up this year: God, my family, and my friends both old and new.

Covered lots of ground with all the above, but being honest I've barely scratched the surface of all my God given blessings I'm thankful for this and every year.

Back in mid-October, the wife and I celebrated her "1 year anniversary" of being diagnosed with uterine cancer. Complete hysterical-ectomy (not funny, I know... but it's how I deal with it...) and all subsequent visits and exams have declared her cancer-free.

I retired in June (30 years w/ Feds) and although the Office of Personnel Mgmt hasn't managed to figure out how much I'm supposed to get each month, they're paying me an "interim" check, and we haven't been too pressured financially. House and truck get paid for each month, and we're not upside down on our mortgage.

We've got 2 friends that are also battling the Big C, one with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma that is living life fully despite dialysis 3x / week, and the other with esophageal cancer that had it completely removed and had his stomach "stretched" upwards to make a new esophagus. He's C-free now, and I'm meeting him for breakfast in a couple of hours this morning. Effin Incredible.

So, all in all, yeah I'm thankful for every day I wake up!

I'm thankful for my kids, period, they are healthy, smart and 2 awesome kids. Nothing else matters to me as long as they are ok!

I'm thankful that I'm above ground and got a job, that the Lord blessed me with such a wonderful Family and Friends (even the 17 year old Doesn't hate me), I'm thankful that I look forward to each and every day, I'm really thankful that 24 years ago tomorrow (T-day), Kristy said said "I do", I can't imagine how my life would have been without her, she has inspired me.

I am thankful that I have a great family and great friends, and that we are all healthy and doing well.. Thankful that I wake up everyday breathing, everything after that is a bonus.

I am also thankful that GD.com has led me to meet some really good people that I will be spending my Thanksgiving with in the dunes.

Have a great holiday everyone 25cheers.gif

I am Thankful for alot:

I am thankful that with all the layoffs at work I am still there
I am thankful that I got the chance to find the house I always wanted at a price I could afford
I am thankful I met Chevy5150 to get me a mortgage, without his services it wouldnt have gone thru
I am thankful I met Jeff the Insurance guy to reinsure everything I own since AAA decided they wanted to double their new HO Insurance rates
I am thankful I got to race the Last EPO this year
I am thankful I met Tim and Stephanie @ SDR and they answered my phone calls everyday during my latest build project
I am thankful that I get 4 days off in a row to go spend Thanksgiving in Lake Arrowhead and get to breathe 2-stroke smoke from my chainsaw as I clear our driveway

I would have to say I'm thankful to God for blessing me with a family of 3 very healthy children, and a wife who understands my desire and needs to be in the desert as often as I am. A job that has helped us to be where we are today, but thankfully only 11 more years to retirement. For the friends and family that still exist here on earth, (for those who passed) but taught me the things in life that made me the man I am today. The friends who I continue to meet on GD.com who share the same passion for hobby/sport and family. May everyone have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, and please try to share with those less fortunate people who have much less than us, left overs are a great gift to the homeless.

Im usually a mess this time of year since losing my Son years ago in Glamis, holidays just make it worse but now after seeing his Dad through has made feel more uplifted about the New Year coming.

Im very Thankful to have a beautiful daughter on the inside and out who is strong and has had to endure so much already in her life but she is able to do it with the grace and wisdom that most older adults do not have.

So I hope ya'll do realize how precious each person is that you pass in just your everyday life and take the time to really ask them about how they are and listen and let them know your there for them and you appreciate them.

Then the ones who gossip and bring you down, don't make time for them in the New Year. Life is too short to spend on them when you don't have to but just make time for those who deserve you!

Not in any particular order
(1) My freedom.
(2) My employment (company merger).
(3) Happiness my grandkids bring me.
(4) My wife, who makes my day a better one.
(5) The men and woman who put it all on the line in the Armed services.
(6) That there are still some people out there that are unselfish and willing to help out in a time of need.
