Looks like there is going to be 2 different night rides....A couple of us want to run Gordon's since the last 2 night rides have been at Glamis.....


August 28, saturday night Gordon's Flats, probably right along the east/west canal, make camp easy to find.

Let me know who's in.

What, who, when, why, where? I'm a newbie, and I need to go places. I have zero idea where to take my quad.

What- Night ride. Show up around on saturday afternoon/evening and ride all night, with one good morning ride on sunday and bone out before it gets too hot.

Who- Whoever

When- Saturday august 28th

Where- Well that's a litte more compicated. Some people will be at glamis, but I'm gonna make that run to Gordon's well. Gordon's well is right off the I 8 aobut 40 miles outside el centro, CA and 15 miles before Yuma, AZ. Exit Gordon's Well exit and head north, then you come to a T in the road and turn right. Follow that road until it turn into dirt and follow up and over the joining of 2 canals (bridge). After you cross over the bridge, go to the right and run along the canal that runs east/west and the group will be right there. I'll make it easy to find.

Why-to get out and ride!!!!

I am about 85 percent sure I will be there, I will probably show up Friday evening, and stay through Sunday, hope to see you there. If I can make it, you cant miss my rig, 38' 5er being pulled by an white F550 flatbed

If you all are going to be there 8/28 we maybe willing to throw a YumaDuner Dinner BBQ together. We've be thinking about it.

i know i keep saying this but i might be interested. im like you chris i know gordons alot better than glamis and i wouldnt mind going there for a night run. ill have to see whats going on and my $$$$ status. got to see if i can afford a few $$$ for gas for the bike.

ill ask shadd and see if he wants to go... like i should even ask!

might even try to get good old pops out there... he just bought a new honda 450 and is probably itching to test it out.

ooops! hehe forgot to call ya. he said he was down for going. so i gotta get the bike ready this week. i got to fix my head light and check everything out make sure its gonna be ok for the night ride.

cant believe pops doesnt want to go. i mean you get the newest bike there is and you dont even want to go out to test ride it. come on whats up with that!

The YumaDuner Dinner will be at the Buttercup cul-de-sac. There will be some of getting there between 6PM & 7PM.

what vechiles do we look for? or should we just look for the biggest group?

ill see if i can these guys into cruising on by to meet some peps. make it through the dunes for alittle ride and fun then stop by.

I said I'm bringing "at least" the small grill The big one will probably come along as well but I can't say for sure. It's starting to feel the effects of being hauled around the dunes and may need new legs soon

Look for Glenn's yellow jeep. I'll either drive my Red Manx out or my Red/White Ramcharger with a primer/black/rust rail behind it

Are you guys sure you don't want to come to Glamis for the night run. It seems as if it is only a couple of you going out to Gordon's. I would go with you guys to Gordon's, but my wife wants me to take her there next weekend. I don't want to go there 2 weekends in a row.

na actually there is alot bigger group than what has been postin. there are more that are not from this board that are going out. i might even have more people going out too if i can talk them into it but they are a bunch of wussies.

Ya I'm bummed.....looks like I'll have to settle for going to the Good Guys Car Show this weekend in Pleasenton instead

i admit we biatched out but i did happen to go out with some friends to superstition. they just bought their bikes saturday and didnt want to go to gordons yet so i decided to go with them. it was fun but sorry to hi-vtlg for sayin we would show then didnt.

Why go to superstition? Dunes are just 45 minutes away! If you're gonna deal with a long drive and heat, you might as well have good terrain to ride.
If your new group made you settle for Superstition rather than Gordons, I'd find a new group!

i could have easily said we are going to gordons but there are beginners in my group and i didnt really care where we went as long as we rode.

see thats what im about riding. its not where i ride it weather i ride or not. plus the ride down there was free so beggers cant be choosers.

I do have to agree with you Yamiboy. I would rather go to Superstition then not go anywhere. I actually have fun there, but I can only go once a year or I get bored. On the other hand I think it sucks that you left HI-Vltg hanging high and dry. You said you would be there and he took your word.

I was just saying, if i'm driving all the way to the desert I would go to Glamis or Gordon's. As long as Glamis is there, I will not be anywhere else!

Don't be doggin superstition, Its not better, its not worse than G, its different plain and simple, sometimes you gotta mix it up. A little hard pack is always fun, and the mudhills, all tight and technical.... too much fun on a bike.

dude its a free ride!!!! i didnt have to pay a dime to go where i went. now i cant biatch about where i went if it was for free.

now i did tell chris at first to wait up for us then i called him back and told him that i was unsure and to head on without me/us. i never stood chris up and never made him wait for us.

superstition is a total different type of riding. most people dont know all thats available til you explore. its not just the dunes on the mountain you can run across the desert.
