Hmmmm Shocker, are you going to end up opening up a fab shop pretty soon? That looks pretty good, much nicer welds than I have ever produced...........

Ya know it wasnt hard at all, mine im actually surprised how well it came out, hey first if ya dont want to fab one up call up tore up racing they offered to make me one with the stock top and bottom parts for $40 with raw metal, if ya want i can ask them how much it will cost, what bike does she have? they are my friends and are really nice, they are in alpine to, and one of them, my friend, made a stem for his yfz it is really nice and he is a very very good welder

the school is wizard fab...if you wanted to get into a great job welding, with excellent pay and benefits, check out teh coast guard for underwater welding. they send you to the school of oceaneering, pay for it and all. you can make 60k in 3 mos and take the rest of the year off.
thats what i would be doing if it wasnt for the naval hospital issuing me an inhaler. but im pretty happy where im at now.
the best way to make money and go far, is to offer one-off customs that are hard to come by, but easy to fab up. you could start by building a kit for my truck

That is EXACTLY what I had in mind for PSDave. On the Banshees the "pitman arm" part of the stem has a hex head shaped shaft that slides up into the stem then gets welded to prevent the thing from twisting, but I cant hex out the end of a steel tube, so I had an idea just like yours. Now that I know it is going to work, I'll give it a try (only if PSDave will let me) I already have a stem on my own sheit.

Dave is doing okay for the moment, if Sarah's stem is bent I'd say it's the priority.

Oh, it's a 400EX...

Pretty darn sweet! Those welds aren't bad. In my metals class I only got through oxy-acet welding, stick welding, and then cutting torch/plasma cutter. Was going to do some tig welding but the class ended before I could get into it.
