I have heard the BLM is giving out demo fee season passes to people it deems allies of the BLM. Is there any truth to this as well as how many free passes does the BLM give away each season and to whom ?? As a taxpayer this should be available under the freedom of information act correct ? My concern is people are getting passes due to connections while the everyday duner gets to pick up the tab. Anyone want to shine some light on this.

Thanks,

Michael

This is the first I've heard of this.

But, in the past the BLM has given the Technical Review Team representatives free passes, as a way to thank them for spending their time on the TRT.

I don't know if this particular tradition has continued.

No problem with that Sailaway, just would like to see a full accounting of all the passes given away,if nothing else ,just a check and balance system. Without any check, the system would be ripe for abuse.I would like to see the BLM on record disclose how many and to whom. I just dont feel comfortable with BLM saying "trust us" 25sex.gif We know where that has got us. 25banghead.gif

Yes, the 9 members of the ISDRA TRT are given passes.

Glenn, anyone else given free passes ??? Please ask BLM this.

Was anyone able to address the BLM pass give away at theTRT meeting ???
LoBuck
9 passes to the TRT and approximately 20 passes to the Dune patrol.

This was discussed with the BLM after the TRT meeting as we missed the opportunity during the meeting. It is being checked and confirmed by the BLM and will be included in the draft minutes of the meeting.

Here is a link to a thread with the same topic on the ASA BBS.
