Screamin Ian
Mar 16 2005, 07:18 AM
Schweet, I am getting super anxious, I am actually pulling the trailer out today to start prepping it for next week, it is supposed to rain over the weekend so I want to do it before it rains, and I have to make sure I have enough room for the car, in other words, UNPACK THE QUADS!!!!, Finally....
We will be there I am going to give them Hell if it's not...But I know they will have it done. Everything is there that they need to do..
Call me Ian on friday, But I should know by thursday if they will have it done or not..
Have a great day..
OH and tell ROBIN she BETTER come with you!!!
Screamin Ian
Mar 16 2005, 07:41 AM
I will ask Robin to come, but it all depends on weither or not we can get a sitter for the dogs, they will freak out if neither of us is there and nobody else they know is around, I am crossing my fingers though.
Just bring them...Put them in the back seat of the car and roll
Screamin Ian
Mar 16 2005, 09:17 AM
something tells me that the 3 dogs would not do well in the back of the car going through the dunes, they are fine in the truck on the highway, but the bumps and the noise would freak at least one of them out, and all I need is big claw marks in my brand new seats, I will save that for the 2nd trip
SandTrap
Mar 16 2005, 09:32 AM
good idea
OK it you must

SandTrap
Mar 18 2005, 12:29 PM
Right now I think your buggy but Jeanette told me to keep the faith so i hope the MH will be done.
Does your Manx feel left now that the new buggy is coming home?
The Wife
Mar 18 2005, 01:08 PM
The Manx is still broken and very sad, it is hiding under a tarp in the carport. I wonder if the local critters are using it as a hotel right now

Keep the faith, the Moho will be done!!!
SandTrap
Mar 18 2005, 04:01 PM
Thanks Robin I will
Screamin Ian
Mar 18 2005, 04:05 PM
The poor manx hasnt been driven since Thanksgiving, I think it has some carb issues, so I am going to trailer that down and get it fixed as soon as the weather gets nicer, then that will be my daily driver since I wont be able to afford to drive my F350 with gas being $3.00/gal.
SandTrap
Mar 18 2005, 04:09 PM
Good idea that will be cool to drive around in the summer time
Screamin Ian
Mar 18 2005, 04:14 PM
I had a blast driving it around last summer, only thing is the gas tank is so small and the guage doesnt work right, so I have to fill it up every time I drive it, but I am looking forward to driving it again, I was going to strip it down and paint the body, but I have no facilities to do that, so maybe when I get my shop up, I will tackle that project.
SandTrap
Mar 19 2005, 09:37 AM
I use to have one and we had a blast with it I wish we still had it.
Screamin Ian
Mar 19 2005, 04:58 PM
I had one a few years back, well I had enough pieces to make a whole one, but traded all of it for labor to build my 2nd buggy frame, the one we have now is a keeper, just when I get all the body stuff done, I am going to stick in a new tranny, and hopefully a subie motor.
SandTrap
Mar 19 2005, 09:05 PM
That would be cool with a subie in it
Screamin Ian
Mar 19 2005, 09:24 PM
yup nothing crazy, just a stock one with some chrome, something a little more reliable than a VW, and doesnt need as much tweeking. Who knows, maybe I will put some crazy wide rear tires on it, drop in a Fortin, with a turbo subie or mazda and make it a wheelie machine.

I like it

I just put a second tank in my Manx....26 gallons of gas now between the stock tank up front and the 15 gallon in the back

Plan is to be able to drive down to El Golfo, spend a weekend driving up and down the beach, then drive home....all without having to put gas in it! Still need to build a rack for the top so I can carry my camping supplies though

And I'm getting ready to do a motor swap as well. Have almost everything I Need to pop one of my 2.3's in there. Just need to get the adapter plate which I'm hoping to have the cash for in a few weeks.
Once the 2.3 is in the VW is going up for sale - and with the proceeds from that I'll be putting in a bus tranny and some 3x3 arms with coilovers
Hey, since I'm planning on selling my rail at the end of the summer I need to have a backup vehicle ready!
