Shhh you might Jinx it again. I said the same thing and lo and behold the car never came. I cant wait to see the finished product as it will be a sight to behold, well worth the wait.
I really hope that Erica and I get a chance to camp with you and Robin next year to see that car in action. Just make sure you dont break it before Halloween.

Wes, I am looking at a week and a half, delivery around the 9th, I am going to call Justin tomorrow to see what stage the paint is in, it should be finished by Friday, then Justin needs 3-4 days to wrap it up. so I may be out there 2 weeks in a row, Robin and I are getting excited about the 15th.
Aaron, come on out and play a couple more times. I would like to stay in touch with you guys over summer and what not, James had nothing but REALLY nice things to say about you guys, I am bummed I missed out on the weekend.

Mar 29 2005, 07:08 PM
yup, Aaron and I were going to camp together over Easter, but due to unfortunate circumstances my car was not ready and he camped with my buddy James (RIPSTER) instead. we are looking for a new camp group since the group we did camp with started to drink too much for my taste and we just kinda have nothing in common anymore, so its time to move on.

Ian, if you and Robin will have us in your camp next season I would be thrilled. I felt bad because I felt like we were kind of a hamper on James with forgetting the quad keyes and all. I promise we arent really that silly, this was just that one trip when everything seemed to go wrong. I will defenitley(sp) stay in contact. I love this board and the people who make it
Aaron
PS Good morning

Aaron, no worries, at least one thing goes wrong for everyone each weekend. It is just a fact of duning life. What is inportant is how you and the people you choose to camp with deal with all of the little, and sometimes big, hiccups. I have noticed that when you find the right people to camp with, they become your desert family, it is the thing that has impressed me the most about this lifestyle. No one has fun unless everyone has fun. And if it takes two trips to Yuma for parts and five hours of wrenching on your quad or car to get it going for one amazing hour of duning, then so be it. Duners truly can be the most amazing people. And you will always be welcome in our camp

So very true....this is my first season in the dunes and I was lucky enough to meet Racerx63 and his group. Talk about a great bunch of people, everyone drops what they are doing to help someone else out. It completely amazed me to see how people still have the helping attitude given society these days. The first trip my g-friend and I went with just a flat bed trailer and slept in the truck. We were living on sandwiches most of the weekend, but once the wives in the group heard that we were suddenly overwhelmed with steak, pasta, etc. Just amazing people overall, couldn't imagine camping with a different group. I also think one would be hard pressed to find such good people in any other hobby as you find in the desert community in general.
