Morning guys.

Yup, I have scraped my fair share of ceilings, I use a 2.5 gallon backpack style yard sprayer and do a 6'x6' section at a time with an 8" blade. Its less damage to the ceiling that way. But when we did whole houses, we brought in the garden hose and used a 18" blade on a pole, it went very quick.
AZDUNERAT
Ian we did use water, but the asshats who owned it before us had it all painted and I mean saturated with paint. Some areas came right off while others needs some motivation. Does anyone know if there is a way to find out if there was electrical run for the ceiling fans. There arnt any in this house but there is a small hole in the middle of the room where I would put a fan and I am curious if maybe they ran the electric when the house was built but never installed a fan.

So Ian any words of wisdom on the plaster?
Screamin Ian
If the code is the same there as it is here, and there are wires in the ceiling for a fan there should be an electrical box with a coverplate in the ceiling, if there is about a 3" round plate in the middle of the ceiling, then I would say yes it is read for a fan, also a switch that doesnt go to anything would be a sign of one too.

do you mean exterior plaster? what are you doing to it? pics help.

Oh and go check this place out while you are at it...

I use the scrapper that you hook a plastic grocery bag to. I have one room left to do in my house and I'm done!!! pepper.gif

We are going to plaster the cielings. I wanted to just do a texture finish but my wife loves the look of a smooth finish plaster cieling.
Screamin Ian
morning guys. hope you have a great day
AZDUNERAT
Well we smoothed the ceiling in the dining room tonight. All I can say is damn that is some tricky chit to work with. Erica's dad was there helping me and he could slather that stuff on like nothing. Then I would try and it would be uneven as all hell. He would get back on the ladder and fix what I just tried to do and then keep going. We only have four more rooms to go and then we need to smooth out the mud to give it a nice finished look.

Hope you guys all had a great day.

hello all,

Aaron, it can be kinda tricky. I dont know if you noticed, but are you doing the ceiling simular to the ceiling in our guest bedroom? Once you get the tecnique down it goes pretty quick. Good luck and if I can help in any way let me know.

By the way did you check out our new website yet?
AZDUNERAT
I did, but have not had time to ho it up over there. I have been beyond busy at work and now with this new house. All will calm down in a couple of months.

Aaron
Screamin Ian

two large to XL depending on how they run.
Screamin Ian
Wes, the smallest shirts we are doing is a medium, everything is out of pocket right now, so hopefully they all sell so we can get some more made.

Aaron, you gonna be at the SSSS? or should I put you down for run #2?
AZDUNERAT
Run number two. Right now we are VERY VERY POOR. At least untill one or both of our houses sell. It is going to be tricky for a while for us. BTW the new garage door went up today and then I climbed into the attick to run a new electric outlet so we didnt have a really goofy extension cord across the cieling. I feel like I must have lost ten pounds of sweat up there but the job is done. Now I need to finish the cielings and its all good for the kitchen and flooring.

BTW Ian do you have any suggestions for installing a ceiling fan where it was not wired. Keep in mind its the bottom floor of a two story house.
SandTrap
Ok Ian cool see ya guys soon

BTW:id some stuff to the rhino last night and hit 50 mph!!
YFZ4KT
Hey all, I put down one XXL and one Medium in THE WIFE thread, this is just incase she does not see it..........

Morning All
Screamin Ian
Aaron, not much you can do with that, you will have to cut some holes to get the wire there. But on the switch part, they do sell some wall mount switches that run off a 9V battery so you dont have to run the wire to the switch location as well.

Ken, she may or may not see that, she is getting orders from all over the place, best thing to do is email her at Robin@dunesafe.com so she can get them all straight. We only have 35XXL's and they are going fast, I may try to order some more today, depending on her count.

Hopefully I will be done in 3 weeks. I hope to have all the footings poured by next weekend (100 bags of concrete). Then framing and electrical. we want the spa on and running by the 28th.
