My mother in law just went out and got an old vw beam car! hahaha she got it for 400 bones. Shes never even been to the dunes before, just hears us talk about it. What a crack, looks like i have another project to work on. If any of you guys have old parts laying around I might need 'em. Tranny's, engines for sale? I will look at it tonight and assess what it needs. I saw a camera phone shot and it didn't look too bad. I'll keep you posted and try to get some pic's....Later!

no paint....I want to get it powder'ed the same color as her new beetle. would look cool in the garage next to her beetle. I have a feeling I will be driving it more than her! I can't help myself. Well I will be having some Ice Cold Delicious Beverage's tonight and relaxing. WE PASSED! I get to keep my job.

Congrats Aaron...I just got news today I get to take over a division in operations starting the Monday I am supposed to be in Mexico relaxing. And turns out I have to fly out to Missouri for a meeting....how bout them apples!!!

BTW Burt, she know what kind of car was in the background??? I'd be interested to see if its a classic. After the Barrett Jackson and seeing the kind of money is thrown on classics, I'm down to start a project.

WildAZ, I have 2 classic cars that I want to restore. one is a 38 Studebaker commander and I forgot what the other one is. I will get pics next week when I am down in San Diego. They are both at Robins moms house, but as soon as I find somewhere to put them, I will be picking them up.

I think the other is an early 1930's Rockne with the rumble seat in the back Very cool cars for sure, been in the family forever seeing as how my step dad was from the Studebaker family

Ian, that's awesome...Studebakers bring back some serious cash if restored to original specs. I'd like to get my hands on an early 40's Ford Roadster. Those are awesome weekend cars!!

We looked in to selling them when my step dad passed away, the particular ones we have there isn't much of a market for. I think we would rather keep them in the family. Ian is allowed to restore and enhance them, but no top chops

The '38 Studebaker I am going to build as a tribute to Robins step dad, I am going to build it the way I think he would want it done. He was a HUGE dodge fan so a Hemi has to be the powerplant, and was also in the U.S. forest service, so I was thinking of using the same greenish color as an accent color or the color of the car with silver accents. It may not get done in the immediate future, but it WILL be a bad ass ride when finished.

The Rockne will be more of a hot rod, but not all wild.

Sounds like a great plan. Cant wait to see some pictures. Well I am off to bed with thoughts of razor backs dancing through my head.
