If you want to drive to Phoenix, let me know. I need to get my buggy out there. Or if you know anyone that will let me borrow a flatbed trailer that my buggy will fit on, I could take it out with Robins car.
Its gonna be tight to get it done by desert season if I wait for the new truck to take it out there.

Screamin Ian
May 27 2007, 08:12 AM
think I may be able to borrow it or something? will my car fit on it? car is around 92" wide and about 18' long.
The tow capacity on Robins car is around 7500 lbs, the car is less than 3K, how much does the trailer weigh?

I am gonna go measure the car today, I wont be able to take it out til mid/late june, but thats way better than late august and missing the first part of the season, it will be out of commission for at least 3-4 weeks since the front arms have to be re-chromed

Ian, your welcome to use my red flatbed. It's at least 98" wide and a 1/2 ton will have no problems with it at all.
Screamin Ian
May 28 2007, 06:33 PM
Thanks homie...actually wifeys ride is a 3/4 ton, but it only has the 3:73 gears in it, so until we put the 4:10's in it, I would rather not tow the enclosed unless I absolutely have to.

May 31 2007, 03:41 PM
her and a friend are doing some photgraphy class in downtown San Diego, the class starts at 8, so I think they got some nice hotel to stay at so she doesnt have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to make it to class on time.
On a good note, my truck is ready and I am picking it up tomorrow, cant wait to hear it. I also got a really nice alarm installed with door lock solenoids so now I have power door locks.
It should be pretty pimp when it pick it up. Simple sleeper lookin, but with a nice system and alarm. Next step it so save up for a new front grill. then I am done til I need new tires and I will see if I have some $$$ for some rims, or I might just powdercoat the stock ones white, I think that would look pretty cool.

Aaron, dont know about when the pick up date is, gotta worry about the order date first, I am HOPING to get it ordered in the next couple weeks, then for a mid to late August pick up. I think I have decided on the color, but am trying to talk myself out of it, I promised I wouldnt get a dark colored truck ever again, but now I am thinking the 2 tone dark blue and silver. All grey/silver just seems so hum drum.
I also want to take a run out to Phoenix late June, HV is going to let me borrow his flatbed trailer if my car will fit on it. It will probably be a really quick run, but maybe I can get those baseboards in for ya.
Wes, I will think about it, depends on if I have A/C or not, no truck=no trailer=no A/C
You guys have a great weekend. I am getting my truck in 2.5 hours, going to my moms to install 6 doors and hardware, then its bachelor weekend for me.
AZDUNERAT
Jun 1 2007, 09:03 AM
Well lets see some pics of the truck tonight then. Dont worry about the base boards. If it gets done it gets done, I would look forward to getting to treat you to some damn good food and drink. Its going to be nice not having any major projects this weekend.

well I am back home, luckily the doors went in pretty well. So I stopped at the market on the way home and I am gonna be BBQ'n up some good eats this weekend.
I will go take some pics in a couple minutes.
Painting the baseboards like I was talking about seemed to work out pretty well. I would definately recommend it.

Ok, well I got off my butt and took some pics...the first ones I have taken since I bought it by the way.
There are pics of the tonneau cover I got, its double thick aluminum and is spring loaded and rolls up into an 8"X 8" canister that is mounted right behind the cab, it also has 4 drain lines so when it rains the water runs off to outside the bed.
Then there are pics of the system, 2 JL 10" subs (notice the JL emblem on the box) then 2 6" door speakers and 2 tweeters. Head unit is a touch screen dvd player, etc. I have a cable for my iPod ran into the glove compartment and the head unit controls that. Also I have the hands free Alpine phone thing so when my cell phone rings it cuts off the stereo and the phone audio comes through the speakers. The mic is mounted on the dash.
Then to protect it all I got a good Clifford alarm with paging. Along with that I got power door solenoids installed so now I have power door locks that locks and unlocks the truck when I set the alarm.
Windows are tinted 20% all the way around, the back window was already tinted, so it is close to limo (probably double 20%, whatever that equals out to)
Next thing will be a billet grill, and I have to do something with the rims, I was thinking of keeping the stock ones and powdercoating them white or ??? I dont like chrome rims on a white vehicle, so I dont know what to do about them. But that will be in about a year or so when my tires are due.

easy on the gas yet?......
Screamin Ian
Jun 1 2007, 08:28 PM
going through about half the $$$ in gas, use to be about $50 a day, now I am around $25. I am averaging 18-19 mpg even when I pull the trailer, so its well worth it. I save about $500 a month in gas.
YFZ4KT
Jun 1 2007, 08:31 PM

AZDUNERAT

doesnt have the dramatic effect the 350 had but it still a damn good looking little truck. I dig the system you had put in, looks like it will bump.

Screamin Ian
Jun 1 2007, 08:38 PM
have a good evening KT.
It bumps pretty well, it sounded good in the F350 and sounds good in the little one, I thought it would be a bit louder, since the cab is so much smaller, but its about the same. when I turn it up to about 1/2 the rear view mirror is about worthless due to vibration. Its got 4200 miles on it, I have had it about a month, I am averaging about 120 miles per day, so I will get my $$$ worth out of the system.
As soon as I get the grill done, I think it will look way better, it will be a clean pimp little truck. you know me, I cant leave anything alone.
The dude at the stereo shop said I could probably fit 4 10's behind the seat on the F450, so we shall see.... Wifey...forget you just read that last sentence.

Morning all...
Yup I was a BBQ'n fool this weekend, BBQ'd 3 times so far and I still have today to go.
Fri was the kabobs and corn, then I Q'd up some burgers for Burt and Stacy when they stopped by, then last night I did some Porterhouses, stuffed mushrooms and corn. Tonight will either be breaded boneless pork chops or polynesian beef kabobs, I am only cooking for myself tonight so we shall see.
Have a great day everyone.
