Anyone thing I would see a real difference? or is it just show?

It will work better then the little pea shooter tip as long as the header and muffler don't restrict your air flow. I don't think it will be a huge improvement like a full exhuast system would give though.

yeah thats what I was thinking....I'm thinking it would not be worth it....I could just open up the stock one and get the same thing
SANDFANATIC
yep.

Either way you will get some improvement.

Pretty much the saem thing as pulling the spark arrestor out of the YFZ450 stock exhuast. On the yfz forums it was said by doing this and rejetting you would see performance gains just below a mild slip on exhaust.

With the yfz it was a free mod, I dont think I would pay for it. I would rather buy a slip on than that ebay item.

not worht it. if anyhting maybe just put a lrger tip in your stock peice, i treid taking the tip off altogether, bike sounded like chit

To me the slight increase isn’t worth the almost $50. There are other restrictions inside the silencer besides just the tip.

And if you wanted to get really picky that is not an approved spark arrestor and you could still get a ticket if they looked closely.

fixxxer said what i was gonna say exactly, just swallow and get a quality slip on. im leaning toward the HMC exhaust. the factory 2-into-1 header pipe is pretty good for flow from what ive heard.

i took my exhaust tip/spark arrester off and it sounded like poo! put it back on within 5 mins, besides i didnt notice any power increase
