In court if you go and fight it and the oficer isn't there YOU get off. Don't they bring in "outside people" for "big" weekends?
There is something there I just wanted to get up before it escaped my mind.

Hey Jon,
The way I've heard it is:
You take the day off to go to court.
You tell the court you want to contest the ticket.
They schedule your new court date.
You take another day off work and show up in court.
The law enforcement officer gets paid to show up in court.
If he is an officer loaned from a distant area he may even get a hotel and meal allowance.
So lets see, you miss a few work day and usually still have to pay the fine.
The officer gets paid to show up and if he's from a distant area, he gets a mini-vacation.
Good Luck.

I ain't got or getting any tickets so I really ain't going to worry much about it. It was just a thought I had. I heard they even brought in people from out of state on big weekends.

SO DOES THAT MEAN WE CAN GO OUT ON BIG WEEKENDS AND GO NUTS, GET TICKETS, GO TO COURT, AND THEN GET OFF? YEEEEHAAAA! PARTY!!!!

( THATS NOT WHAT I REALLY THINK, JUST SHOWING YOU WHAT THE AVERAGE LOSER WOULD THINK IF HE READ THAT )

a small citation like a whip or helmet, i would just pay. a helmet ticket from the feds is $25. not worth my time fighting. a dui or open container or soemthing like that i would and did contest in court, and was glad i did, since it came out in my favor. you never know if an officer makes an error in handling your case unless you contest it.

Always fight your ticket:
Pre pay the fine:
Set your date:
Upon the court day, (MOST IMPORTANT) look for the name of the office on your ticket. Listen to role call. If he is present. You'll most often lose, if he is not in attendance you win by default.
IF
you dont wish to go to trial this is your last chance to partially save your butt. Immediately walk up to the bailif say I dont wish to go to trial and want to sign up for traffic school.

this will really **** of the office because in most cases, court days are days off days for them. Especially if they are Police. Remember CHP get paid and are required to go to court so most always they will show up. I'm not sure about BLM.

Dont forget if you wish to fight your ticket to ask for a transfer court locations to one closer to you. That way you dont have to drive to el centro and I doubt the officer will drive to LA county.

Many tickets are now being processed by a private industry and that makes it even more difficult a process.

Good luck.
