I live in the Palm Desert area and in the empty lots here there are little weeds that have purple flowers growing on them, the lots here are sand. So if this is PMV, will it grow elsewhere that it is sandy and hot, like the Sahara Desert?

Zim,
I would love to see some pictures of your PMV!
Can you take some pictures of the plants in your sand?
If you can actually prove that you have PMV growing in your yard it would be a VERY good thing!
Vor
PS: Email me if you cannot take pictures and I'll see that someone comes by to take some.

Dont forget to send your findings to the ASA too. You'll make them very happy.
Unfortunatly because its around the corner from Imperial valley the Bios may say its SOME other MilkeVetch variety. Classified under some other Species that is based on Region.
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genius
Species
(Her's where were screwed with ultra retentive Variety)
You know if they find a fly with 3 hair instead of 4 its classified as a different species, I got stuck doing that for a class. And theres guys that count them. UNBELIEVABLE.
Say Bob you got more hair on your but than I that makes you a separate species. Thats how taxonomy works.
Unfortunately the stage of genetic classification is not available yet but will one day soon end this screwy category by having the ability to read DNA maps. Which will also make us creators to restore lost or extince animals.
Well all be just genetic code.

Sorry bud those arent pmv. Look at the flower buds the whorled leave patters, the succulent stems vs the hearty waxy stems of PMV and leaf shapes. Thanks for keeping a good eye out.

The good news is your home & property, and the surrounding area, won't be closed down and be posted "off limits" by the BLM
