did any one know there a dual exhaust for the yfz 450 thats what im going to get cuz i like the exhaust of the banshee how it looks well later
YFZ4KT
got any pics? would like to see this.......

What next.. a wing! rolleyes.gif icon_biggrin.gif

what benefit would duel exhaust give you? It only has one exhaust port doesn't it?
yfzeric
loney toon makes it and from what dirt wheels mag says it is a peace of s*** eff*s up the power to dont buy just for looks
glamis313
669bucks for it and from what i hear its nice power add and the sound is crisp
Brandon Long
The write up said that it hurt the lower end but worked good on the top end...
glamis313
i really dont think you can mess up the power with a pipe i think it can only get better
SHOCKER
i have seen much of them, in mags and people talking about them, no one actually with them, but thik of this, there is just 1 more pipe to take off or pack, and most likely its show and no go, it does look neat but i dont think its right for a single cylinder,

think there is no need for the extra muffler, is there? i wouldnt think so, i would think well i do think that there is no gain once so ever from it, there isnt any bklockage of air from a single muffler, so why would you need 2? ya see what im saying, dirtwheels has probably had a test on it
Kevin
yep you can mess it up, could mnake the engine produce less power at certain rpm levels than with a styock pipe, but it certainly looks purrty rolleyes.gif

On a banshee it does look good. But of a YFZ it doesn't. On a banshee you have twin cylinders. On a YFZ you don't. Save your money and get a pipe that will actually perform for you.

i agree with kevin, you can definitely lose power especially with unecessary routing like this one. even if this pipe does gain a little over stock (which is not a great accomplishment) you'll have only added dead weight to your bike.

if form over function is your thing though, go for it.

edit: typos.

They are a real nice system, and the Yahama wakes up nicely with them. The real advantage to having the dual set-up is the sound emisions. The LTE system is able to hit the Oregon Dunes sound level (92dB), with out much of a loss from the full open system. They are making power from bottom to top, and so far have been equil, if not better in the HP numbers with the big names.

As far as the Dirt Wheels reveiw, I, and the owner of LTE beleive that the test had major issues. DW made fun of the owner's name, did a dB test that came out with a different dB level than many rangers in both CA & OR have(by 3-4dB). The ruff running must of been a carb issues, when has a exaust ever caused ruff running. There are also a couple of places where they state different good, and then bad.

It is really nice to be able to ride by the sound cops, and not worry about what dB reading I will receive. My 450R is at 93dB, and the 400EX is at 89dB! I have seen an honest dyno run of where the Yahama 450 hit 50+hp with exaust, aircleaner, cam mod.

Dual exhaust on a single piston engine with a single port, is like duals on a honda civic. Pointless. Not to mention, you now have the heat from the exhaust on the side of the bike that was not designed for it. Sure they give you heat sheilds and such, but it is not worth it imho. All you are doing is adding more weight to your bike, and making less power than a well tuned single system.
Jmpulse- I doubt you saw a 50 horse dyno with just pipe, filter and cam mod. If you have, I would like to see it. And, the before run as well.

Kinda like catback "dual" exhaust, isn't it? Has the form, but not the function.

That's what it seems like to me. The noise thing may not be a bad point, but weight, etc. outweigh (no pun intended!) that IMO.

there are many systems out there that can meet the db req's and not add all that weight to the bike. nice concept, not sure on qualtity, never seen one in person, but with the price tag it carries i honestly dont think its worth it.

Here is what Mickey Dunlap has to say about the gains compaired to other race pipes.

The only dyno that I can find online is only a lously 48hp, but the stock base line was 36ish. The multiple other dyno pulls I have seen, from those mobile units that go to the dunes durring the big weekends always show 3-4 more hp.

It is funny how people who haven't ever ridden the LTE system are so quick to bash it. I have yet to see a post where any users of the product have any complaints of the power, low dB's, quality, or looks. If you have some proof beyond the hear say of a bunch of people who have never used the product. Oh, and then there is the attack of DirtWheels, I guess that they didn't pay them enough for a good reveiw.

Let me preface this post by saying I could care less what Mickey Mouse has to say about anything. Not trying to be rude, but go to www.bluetraxx.com, and read up on him a little. As for a 48hp dyno, that is not an uncommon number for an aftermarket pipe, filter, and cammod. As for the 3-4 extra on show dynos, those numbers are meaningless without a baseline. There are many different types of dynos, and they are all tuned, and calibrated differently. Comparing peak numbers is not an "across the board" thing.

I personally, can say nothing about the performance of the lte exhaust, as I have no experience whatsoever with one. For $400 my alba pipe performs just fine for me. What I was complaining about was the weight, and extra heat. These are things you cannot deny. In the sand, weight is just as important as hp.
SHOCKER
Every 7lbs is equal to 1 horsepower, thats what the pros say, and waht i have heard
Brandon Long
Do the pipes come with a neon light kit (j.k.)
SHOCKER
and spinners icon_wink.gif
glamis313
ya they make neon im thinking about getting it and yes there are spinners to that are iron crosses so pretty cool huh

i have yet to see a bike with them at the dunes. sorry but for what the price of these things are it better make more power than a cheap pipe.
G1500
thats a 400, it has 2 pipes going into 1, instead of 1 pipe going into 1. its like somone sais earlier, its like a cat back dual . 1 into 2, no point.
