ok im thinking about cutting my stock fenders now. the things is i have heard of so many ways to do it i dont know which way will work good. its my first set of fenders i have cut so im a beginner.

Bansh88 mentioned a way with a hack saw a few months ago what else is there? ive heard of using a die grinder but that can melt the plastic alittle. imnot sure what other ways to go.

need some help please!

I used a regular ol' woodworking jig saw and it worked pretty good. But this is better. Die grinder will definitly melt the plastic.

Harbor Freight
Forced Overtime
Dremel with one of those little cutting wheels..... no burning and it doesn't cause a a lot of slivers...good luck

I laid out my cuts with masking tape first, that way you can get an idea of how things will look. I used a saber saw with a metal hack saw blade then sanded the edges smooth.

I used electriccal tape for an outline. It bends nice and is easy to move around. The Dremmel kinda sucked.

Sorry, no stories to tell. icon_sad.gif It's just that I am a machinist and I've seen many a drill or other cutter snap off and fly and those RotoZips turn pretty quick. Fender plastic is a formidable opponent to a RotoZip cutter and a first timer using one might get a surprize. icon_wink.gif Here's one, always wear lower leg protection when loading Pacifico's from the box to the ice chest, I dropped one from about 8 inches above the ground at Havasu this summer and it exploded putting several holes in me, talk about party shrapnel! I should've got a stitch or two but they healed pretty good. laughing.gif laughing.gif Cheers

I went through several dremmel blades. They went every which way. lil scary. I put shades on after the first one went flying

I start with a jigsaw for the main cut then a dremel sanding bit to clean it up and straighten the lines, run some sandpaper over it to vlean it up then run a heat gun over the edges to make it look like it was never cut.

I used tape to line out my cuts, then used a razor knife with a new blade, went through a couple blades, but turned out good, I use a razor knife everyday for work so I have a steady hand with one, practice going big then smaller until you get where you want your fenders to end up.

Jigsaw for me. Followed by some sand paper.

havent you heard? it adds like 5hp per fender...j/k icon_biggrin.gif

i dont know... i like the way banshees look i have a way wider suspension so the fenders dont do too much good now. the wheels stick out past all four fenders. i was just planning on cutting the front and not the back. why do you ask?
