As Rooster said, he sent a series of questions off to PEER to see what they had to say concerning the PEER Propoganda Video...
Here is the response he got:

Subject: RE: Video on Glamis
Thanks for your questions, Rooster.
The video was shot over the Thanksgiving weekend last year. All of the
footage, except for the dead tortoise, was filmed on location, and nothing
was staged. The tortoise shot was an old piece of footage we had on file,
and we used it to demonstrate the very real danger a lack of monitoring
can
present to the animals.
Let me try to answer your questions:
1. Who killed the lizard that was shown?
We found dead lizard in the dunes over the Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't
hard to find--100,000 off-road vehicles in one area lead to a lot of dead
wildlife.
2. Who killed the desert tortis that had fresh blood all over it , not dried
blood?
As I mentioned, that was old file footage we had on hand.
3. How did the camera crew get around in the sand dunes to shoot this
footage?
We used a pick-up along the periphery of the dunes and hiked our cameras
in
to shoot.
4. Is the rider shown on the four wheeler in the closed area a member of
Peer?
No--it was easy to find people riding in closed areas, so we set up our
camera in front of a sign. We waited less than 2 minutes to get that shot.
5. If you can't answer my questions then who can?
N/A
6. Was the events in question or any part of the video STAGED?
No. All of the riders were real, and all of the wildlife damage was real.
For a couple of up close rider shots, we asked riders' permission to film.
One four-second shot of riders in vegetation was filmed with the cooperation
American Sand Association members who support our efforts toobtain
additional support for law enforcement.
Feel free to call if you have any more questions.
Sincerely,

ok this is bugging me...
"One four-second shot of riders in vegetation was filmed with the cooperation

I dont think that the ASA supports them, even for more law enforcment, I dont think that the ASA would go along with a video like this...

IT WAS NOT A WASTE OF TIME. This guy blew the whistle on the peer video. If you do***ent a story for the purpose of informing and use as a argument tool. You can not do***ent or use false info. The point that the photo of the turtle and I suspect the lizard was a peace cut from an old video. Also his statement of all those animals that were killed Thanksgivingday. I for one also seen some of these people on Four wheelers taking thier photo's.
The hole point is that I felt like a fishing trip to prove the video was a hole flop.I also intend on sending coppies to others that can see this type of bogus stories for what they are. B.S. The shot with the rider comming out of the closed area is also staged. There is a lot wrong if you know where to look.I just thought everyone would be interested in knowing. It's also a item that can be used against them in the fight for M.G. So nothing you try to prove the idots are doing things dirty are a waste of time , at least not mine.

the word is
Doc ument
the "See you emm" being starred out because it is on the list of objectionable words.
It is on the list because some time in the past someone had missued that word to the detriment of the board, so Kurt added it to the list.
I was glad to post this for you and hope anyone else who has something they would like posted feel free to send it on to me!

All I'm saying is that you really didn't get much out of them besides the lizard part....their sneaky bastads and they wont give in and tell the truth for anything..just my opinion....Mark

For whoever said they would find it unlikely for an ASA duner to be involved in this... please e mail Sanduners@aol.com and he can explain more fully, I will tell you my understanding of it now.
Jim, and his family were in the dunes when they saw what appeared to be a camera crew shooting footage, driving a big SUV too.
Jim stopped them and asked if they could tell him what and why they were filming etc. To which they replied with some idiotic statement like "We are filming for Playboy" to which Jim replied- no seriously.
He was then told they were filming a do ***entary for PEER about the dunes. To which Jim said "Oh come and shoot me and my family hanging out having a good time to show what a great family place this is" so they agreed.
Apparently, they repeatedly suggested Jim and his family ride in areas of vegitation (to get it on film) when Jim replied by saying something like no we don't do that. So instead they tried to film them at angles that would look like the were indeed in the vegitation, when they were in fact not.
This is how the video was obtained, since Jim and his family were pictured in the video they sent him a copy.
All of this I have just mentioned are just what I believe to remember about the incident- as it was told to us by Jim at the Long Beach Area ASA meeting (if any of you attended maybe you remember this).
Again, these are not specifics, I am sure Jim would answer any questions with more info if you e mail him, or when he runs accross this post here.

Here is a shot of the group.
And the BLM ranger ford that we had to push out, it got stuck...
Yes, a big 4.5 seconds from 2 hours with of taping, these people are s t r e c h ing the truth here. File footage of the turtle looks pretty old.. But its the only one they have.

Bump.
The lies in 2001 are the same lies in 2006. I understand the PEER video is still shown to misinform people.
Anyone have a link to the PEER video? Those who haven't seen it need to, and those of us who haven't seen it in years need to watch it again.
