I've heard of people riding along the farms in mexico where is that at? If you go straight south of comp hill at buttercup will you hit them or do you have to go farther southeast?

I ride along the edges of the dunes all the time, if you go straight south from midway you should hit them, basically a little southeast from comp, they are not hard to find, just keep going south and you will see them, but there has been a topic posted earlier today the the border patrol freaks out and confiscates cars once you cross the border back into the U.S. so I am not going to dune there until I talk to an officer about it. but it is definately cool.

Just duned out there this weekend. Virgin, soft sand everywhere. I have been doing it for years and have never been hassled by the border patrol or anyone else.

I have been doing it both on big and slow weekends and have never been talked to about it, I am hoping that if I ever do get pulled over that once I explain things it would be all good.

i was told by a border partol that was there that you can get arrested if you cross over and then cross back without going through a point of entry. he said it depends on the patrolman that stops you too. if he feels like being a d!ck he can take yo chit and aresst you or he can just yell at ya.

my bike is to precious for me to want to try that. ill stick to the north side of the 8.

The way I see it, they can't dune the way we can. Just dive into the dune and haul a$$. They will never catch you. You can be back at camp faster then they can get air help.

we were checked once...we were sitting at what we call mexican Bowl...its a big bowl at the south east end of Buttercup and next to the border..there was about 12 of us all on quads.....they actually came across the border (riding on raptors) to let us know we were on the wrong side....they were pretty cool so we ponied up and went back across to finish our ride....
