can anyone tell me how much oil a 2002 Honda 400 EX takes? I don't have a manual.

If just changing oil? 1.8 us qt. is needed. if after disassembly 2.3 us qt is needed.

i always throw in the full 2 quarts...will that mess something up?

I usually toss is the full 2qts too. If you want to get picky you could fill it with 1.5 qts and keep checking the dip stick till it shows full. Either way you should check the dip stick.
