Well since I'm hoping to make my first full trip to the church of sand for the season this coming weekend I thought I'd stop in at Pastor VoR's capel to pay my respects.
The off-season has been hard but things are finally coming together. All the pieces for my rail are now collected and being assembeled - by this weekend I'm hoping to a make a test run.
And though the miracle of duners helping duners I even managed to do it without selling my street bike. My eternal thanks to all who have helped me over this past year and I want you all to know my efforts to help our cause will not stop just becuase my ride is back together again. The dunes will be returned to those who love them and not locked away behind some bigots fence!
Mother G - I've been watching you the past few months longingly imagining just how beautiful you will be when I finally make it back out to visit you again. Every day as I drive down 16th stree here in Yuma I see you patiently waiting off in the distance - and every day it brings a smile to my face. Knowing that soon I'll be back in your loving arms sharing good times with great people always cheers me up no matter how bad of a day I've had.

Oh yeah - And thanks Slappy! I made a quick pilgrimage out to Buttercup tonight. What a beautiful sunset mother gave me as thanks! There was a small group celebrating 3 birthdays and I even saw the Border Patrol guy who lives across the street from me driving his Jeep around out there!
Can't wait to say my sand prayers deep in the dunes instead of here in our little chapel!

Getting down to the wire for spook week! Three G's for the trailer with stereo and all the outside lights. Remerber to bring extra nuts & bolts on the first trip, Going together so fast you allways forget to tighten something. I hoping to have my motor back together by next week, MIB is going to help me with the front end this weekend. Mikey, Did a guy fall of the earth, where you at man no posts? Rub wants Wassabi for dinner(:

For dinner? What does that mean? You gonna eat me up with that 25psi of boost? Those new longer arms gonna give you that extra edge over me thur the bumps? I'm down, bring it on! I speak soft but drive with a heavy foot.....

Bummer, the trailer would be nice but I can't justify spending more on a trailer than I did on my rail

(at least more than I spent on it BEFORE the rebuild. When it's all said and done the money invested will probably be double what I paid for the rail initially - Still almost what you're asking for the trailer. Gotta love the budget rides!)
BTW - My new header came in today:
http://hitesman.com/jason/sanddunes/rebuil.../newheader1.jpghttp://hitesman.com/jason/sanddunes/rebuil.../newheader2.jpghttp://hitesman.com/jason/sanddunes/rebuil.../newheader3.jpghttp://hitesman.com/jason/sanddunes/rebuil.../newheader4.jpgGetting closer every day! I am determined to take it for a test drive saturday! Not much left.
Gotta find a new spark arrestor now though - my old supertrapp was a 3" and the new header is only 2 1/4" at the flange.

Howdy Pastor VOR. Just wanted to post my first in your Church. Hope you bless my words. Definitely will be flying in for my first trip this year friday morning. Can't wait. It's killing me to wait another week. The off season blues are even more difficult here in the big state of Texas. Ya'll think you got it bad, try it from 1200 miles away. I don't recommend it. Any chance of pulling into your camp this weekend? Love to meet ya'll this time out. Hope all is well and we'll be coming to a Dune near you. Peace

Chef why do they call you Chef? Are you the one in charge of the BBQ?

Woo Hoo! It's back together! But I still can't dune

I blew up the starter waiting for the fuel pump to prime the carb (and I think my coil is dead since I suspect I wasn't getting a spark - the coil did sit out for a few months and I suspected it would need to be replaced). That's what I get for extended cranking at 12volts on a 6volt starter
So I can sit in it and make motor noises but I can't annoy the neighbors by firing it up in the driveway until I get a new starter. Already placed an order for a new Hi Torque with the 6 volt gear on it though - with luck I'll have it in a few days.
And those few extra days give me time to clean up some of the quick and dirty wiring I did and do a little touch up paint with the rattle cans to fix the inevetable assembly scratches. I'll be posting some new photos of it tomorrow when I can get them in the daylight.

Chef! I gotta meet the world famous Chef! Any idea where you will be camping? My gang will be at Cement Flats, which is in between the ranger station and the highway... you can't miss it. The GD.com group won't be far away either. Everything is bigger in Texas, except the dunes.

Mikey, it's a long story. We'll need a couple beers for that one. Plenty of laughs too. Some day i'll post it on the board. It takes me forever to type. Maybe i'll get the secretary to do it. King G, so far the camp will either be Tressel 9 or 22 next to the railroad tracks. Closest to Boardmanville. Looking forward to meeting you and the troops. Peace

All right I finally got air in all four tires today so I could push it out into the driveway by myself. The new photos of my baby fully reassembeled (though still sporting a blow out starter - new one should ship Tuesday) are up at:

Roger at funrunner just called about an hour ago though to say my new starter is on the way and will be here thursday or friday - yep I always do EVERYTHING last minute!
But I did sit in it while I ate dinner last night to make myself feel better
