The Pastor
Does anyone know the term
Glamis Creep?

This is what I call the phenomenon where people make plans to go to Glamis at a certain time but that time keeps being moved closer and closer.

It goes something like this...

Glamis rider #1 "I'll be out there after work on Friday... Should make it by 11pm"

Glamis rider #2 "Well, I am gonna make it by 8pm"

Glamis rider #1 "I just talked to my boss and I should be able to make it out there by 6pm."

Glamis rider #2 "Yeah, My boss told me to take the whole day off so I should be out there before noon."

Glamis rider #1 "You got the whole day off? Well let me talk to my boss. If he lets me have the day off we can leave after work on Thursday!"

Ect. Ect. Ect.

This phenomenon, that I call Glamis Creep, is very interesting to watch in the chat room and on the boards. I've already seen Glamis creep get two people who weren't even going to GO to Glamis, and now they'll be out there with the rest of us!

Do any of you know what I'm talking about? or is the Pastor just loosing it again?

I gotta go now. I wasn't going to leave for Glamis until about 5pm on Friday but now it looks like I'll be leaving around noon. If this keeps up I might even be on the road tonite!

See ya'all at Glamis!!!
Be Safe

Yea I know what thats about. I am usually the guy trying to convince everyone to take the day off. Unfortunatly for me though the glamis creep usually occurrs in the other direction, Something to the effect of "I will be at your house at noon", then when three o'clock rolls around we are finally hitting the gas station. Nothing ****es me off more than a delayed start to a cherished weekend in the dunes. Why I outa..........

Thats right Brian.
When my wife asks me:
So, when are you leaving for Glamis?
and I answer:
Right after work on Friday!
She always laughs, and says very sarcasticly:
"yeah right"
Well, I've never been able to hold out until after work on a friday yet. LOL

Oh VOR, we don't even measure hours anymore, it's days. If our buds are going out on Thursday for 10 days, we are going on Tuesday for 12 days. We even claimed to go for 18 days one time just to out do the other. user posted image

VOR, the story I always hear is "I would love to go with you next time you go. When are you going? That sounds like a great time." Of course Pastor, I go at the same time every year. Halloween, New Years(my birthday), spring break and possibly a couple quick jaunts to the dunes via great air-fares. Of the 17yrs I've been here in Texas, A whopping 3 have joined me. One guy came twice. 1st trip broken thumb(don't try and catch your fall, your going down anyway). 2nd trip, broken collarbone(don't let the witches eye hypnotize you, once you look down, you're in her). He sold me his boots. Great buy. Only used twice. The 2nd trip he went down, was on the 1st ride. Haven't even made it to the good bowls yet. He doesn't talk to me anymore. Maybe he's mad at me because I wasn't loading up the motorhome for another 10 days. Atleast he got to watch the playoffs and the superbowl. Denver beat Atlanta that year. And of course all my buddies in Diego say: "Dude, when you going to Glamis again? I'll meet you out there." It never happens. I only go at the same time every year. Schedule is set. Be there, God willing I will too. Peace

Drag-N-Fly,
Not the first kid on the 1st in '63 but was definitely a party breakup for my mother. She forgives me now but I'm sure she still holds a little bit against me. I can't imagine being interrupted on New Years in Glamis. Sorry, gotta go for a ride. Deal with ya later. The New Years babies are definitely the fastest/smartest/smoothest/brightest/most agile, mobile and versatile duners in Mother G. Welcome to the group. Not many of us here. But it sure feels good!!! Peace

Your right...New Year babies are the best of Glamis!! Geez one of the hardest things I did was miss riding 1/2 a season when I was pg...daughter was 9 weeks old when I strapped her on the front of me, hopped in the buggy and off we went!
'63 well I have a few years on you, and it helps to be born in Licking County Ohio...thank god my parents had the brains to move! Didn't think my dad would ever get over that lost tax deduction, but my mom thought it was cool that my doc was wearing white tie and tails.
