Just wanted to let you all know that I am riding my quad up to wash 13.5 in Glamis on Saturday the first.
Departure time is 8:15a.m. which might be tough for all you crazy late night party people, but I dont want to get to Glamis late since people are leaving that day that I want to see. So far the ride consists of myself (quad), probably my bro (quad), and RIPSTER a.k.a. James(buggy). Anyone is invited to come along, I have made arrangements for gas when I get there, but I believe Boardmanville and the store sell gas if needed.
Route up there will probably be along sand highway, then cut through the dunes at Gecko, probably hitting Olds then to the washes. On the way back, it will probably be China wall, then sand highway.
Crowdog was also interested in coming along too, which would be great.
This all depends on weather conditions since there is a 40% chance of rain out there the entire week, so if it is still like that, I may just cancel the trip. I will keep you all updated as best I can, and I also have a GPS coordinate for 13.5 if anyone would like it.

I am gonna try. My quad needs race gas

(13.8:1 compression). Maybe I'll get some octane boost (I hate the thought), and fuel up with Premium at BMV or buy some from a fellow GD.com peep.
Either that, or I will try to strong-arm my bitch (Jeffinrivercity) to bring his Buckshot up.

there ya go, do whatever is necessary, I just saw the weather forcast, hopefully it improves, 60% chance of rain the entire week, =no bueno.
Where do you guys think a good meeting spot is, corner of the north/south sand highway, and the road to Patton?

I like the idea of Patton Valley as I will most likely be camped at Ogilby. Might be in GW they are twisting my arm.
How long does this ride take 4 to 5 hours? 2 hours?

I think from the corner of the sand highway and the road to Patton it would probably take about an hour non stop, to get to 13.5, then hang out time (1 hour or so) then ride time back, so basically I would guess around 4 hours from start to finish, depending on if we hit Olds on the way up and China wall on the way back.

The fastest way up is to take the road right next to the canal. Smooth and fast, guys on quads can run up that in 20 minutes or less instead of taking the beating the whole way up on sand highway.
Just my 2 cnts.

HV, thats the way my bro and I took when we went up to road runner, I am no way going to ride all those whoops for 20+ miles up the highway, I am too old for that.

yup, we rode it up to Road runner, on the way back I was like eff this, so we dropped down to the flats and averaged 40+mph on the way back, not bad on a quad.

Make a right at Roadrunner. Follow the closure to China, then to washes. Save a few MPG. Then you can get a good idea if the ride back can include a slightly longer ride through Olds
