Now I've never been to Glamis, and who knows maybe never will, but I bet the problems are the same. I live in the Northwest and do all of my riding at the Oregon Dunes area along the Oregon Coast. Over Memorial Day weekend my family were down there enjoying the nice weather(not rainy) and having fun. Like I said I've never been to Glamis so hear me out. In the Oregon dunes there is a noise issue 93dbl but you can get by with 95dbl. Its there cause people have houses all along the dunes, also there is a curfew NO (bikes, buggys and atvs) after 10 pm tell 6 am. In the Oregon dunes there's a few campgrounds with dune access and in there its also 10pm. So over the weekend my family goes down to the dunes to ride not stay up drinking tell whenever and sleep tell 11-12 in the mid-morning. We go down to ride so we go tho bed around 10 and get up around 6-7 am. All weekend long they're people leaving the campground at 10pm every night now I can see if you're out on the sand and come in a little after 10pm no big deal right but when you leave at 10pm. Those actions are what give the ANTI's ammo. Also the trash for the big weekends is stupid. If you can take a 6 pack of beer out there why in hell can't you take 6 crushed cans back, they take up less room!! I've seen kids no older than 7-8 leaving pop cans candie bar wrappers everywhere, my guess is if mom&dad don't pick up the #$%* they don't either. What I don't understand is that the voice of the few have the future in there hands and don't give a s@*# about it. Its the someone else attitude that will f%^@ us all of riding areas. Just remember this when your out and about and see some trash, stop pick it up for your kids, grand kids they might enjoy the sand as much as all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to nit-pic or anything, but only Florence and parts of Coos Bay have the 10 pm curfew. At Sandlake you can ride all night if you want and the other parts of Coos Bay and Winchester the curfew is midnite. But I know what you mean about trash and stuff. I try to take all my stuff home(and usually try to get all the cans to take back for the deposit since no one else wants to) helps pay for my trip since I'm not working right now. Also, the people leaving at 10 could be people that are camped out in the sand and were only visiting friends or family that arent. That would be the same as being in the dunes and coming back to your camp in the campground.

YES THAT IS A GOOD IDEA ABOUT THE CANS SHANE, BUT THE PEOPLE THAT LEAVE THEM FOR YOU TO PICK UP SHOULD HAVE THERE HEADS SMACK FOR DOING IT IN THE 1ST PLACE. AS FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND SORRY COULDN'T GET TOGETHER FOR A B.S TALKING, BUT I REALLY WASN'T HAVING MUCH FUN AROUND ALL THE STUPID PEOPLE AROUND ARE CAMP( THEY WERE LEAVING EVERY NIGHT AT 10 PM AND NOT RETURNING UNTIL 1-2-AM) WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP. I DON'T THINK WE'LL BE GOING DOWN ON ANY BIG WEEKENDS ANYMORE TO MUCH OF A PAIN IN THE @#$!!!!!!!

I missed all the comings and goings.. I always try to back at camp by curfew. Luckily, I'm a pretty heavy sleeper(atleast at the dunes) so the late night riders dont usually bother me. Most of the cans I take back originated from the from my(or other friends also there)camp. If I see some while out and about and have someplace to put them, I'll pick them up also. I ended up leaving Saturday 'cuz I got stuck back at camp without anything to ride on or in. Maybe someday we could hook up on an off weekend and go for a ride.

No the rules have always been there, but if you were up there for sandfest they might look the other way being a big money maker for the area. I don't know, but I do know that it is a good sized ticket. I think 150.00? I know the sound tickets are 175.00 and the no flag rule is also 175.00. The only new rule for the Oregon dunes is that dirt bikes must have a flag on them just like atvs, buggys, etc..

I'm not totally sure about Coos Bay... They may or may not have a curfew. It would be on the web page for there. Easiest way I know to get there is
http://www.oohva.org then click riding areas then ODNRA.
