Ok, heres the deal, im looking into getting a new bike during the summer. I figure, hey why not, can get it broken in before the season, and get some paddles and pipe as well, and some of the prices will be cheaper.
Anyways, heres the delema. LA cyclesports sells the bike for 6300-6400. I know the sales manager and finance manager here at the cycle center in el centro, and talked with him today, and can get it for 6900-7K, and maybe get some stuff thrown in.
What is your opinion on saving 600 bucks, and having to go to LA everytime somthing goes wrong with the bike, or spending 600 bucks more and having it right here in the valley?
I live in chino, and wont be storing the bike there, nor will i be riding it there. i keep it locked up here at my house. So if somthing were to go wrong with it, i would have to take it up there, and leave it in my truck, at rixk of being stolen.
anyways, what do you guys think, is it worth the money to buy it here?

Mike,
You can take it anywhere to be fixed.

Well, you have a good point in the fact that sometimes dealer service can be better if you buy the bike at that location. But, $600 is almost 10%, so that's a pretty big upcharge, and there is no real guarantee that you will actually get better service if you buy locally or not. Since you are not planning on buying for a while, I'd wait a bit, and see if the local guy isn't more flexible during the warmer weather when no one is buying.
Personally, I would drive for the $600..but that's only me...you have to live with the decision..

well, that was just a roundabout number, i just walked in and was like hey foo, what are these running stock? and he said, ill give it to you for 7 out the door. i was like coo and started BSing about somthing else. and im talking to a girl who bought her YFZ from him and shes POSITIVE he will match the price. anywho, im willing to go over by like 200 bucks, but not 600, just for the fact that its close to here and all.
Perry, i was saying that because dosnt the warenty only cover it from the place i buy it, or does that go for any aut. dealers?

I have bought two bikes from LA cycle sports. they have the best prices around, but there service dept isnt the greatest. $600 bucs is quite a bit of service at your local dealer thou.

g1500..any authorized dealer should be able to perform warranty work on the bike if it needs it. Some dealers do give preference to those who buy from them though. Good thing is most quads are pretty defect free..

Good luck with that warranty... anywhere.

yea, i think hondas seem to be the best, from my perspective, 250r has been around for 20 years, pretty good design, i had my 400EX for 5 years, and the only prob i ever had was a burr on the clutch basket, causing it not to let me engage the clutch, a file and back in buisness.
my friend just told me that she got the yamaha extended warrenty, and it can only be serviced at the dealership she bought it at.
anyways. im willing to pay 6500 or 6600 TOPS at IV cycle, anything more, and it aint worth it, just go to LACS and jet the bike and a pipe for the same price

I would buy it at the place closest to where you live, by the time you spend gas to get there and back, and deal with the hassle, you will only be saving yourself hardly any money.

Mike any authorized dealer will do warranty work for the initial Honda warranty. If you buy an extended one, it may be limited.

I'd pay local peeps $200 more, but for $600 I'd drive. That $600 buys a pipe, paddles, jet kit and k&n filter....
I've bought bikes from la, I was in and out in 20 minutes. No problems.
Split the difference in mileage...call Berts in Azusa...they beat the ad price from LACycle on my Pred last year...their floor price is usually high, but the two times we've gone in and done our homework, we came out ahead. My contact there told me as long as the other dealer has the bike in stock(with a vin) that is advertised, not just a general sale ad, that they'll usually match or beat it...

i dunno, it seems kinda strange, i feel like theres some gimic in the LACS prices. maybe its just being me as a pecimist or whatever, but it seems strange, all these other people are making money, why do they just post OTD prices like that. i dunno.......just seema weird, you also have to call in and reserve a bike. when i go to reserve one, are they gonna tell me, oh were out or whats the deal? anyone bought from them???

Dude, I bought Conor's yellow 250EX there. Called them, told them what I wanted and showed up. Had to wait while they finished a customer in front of me. Once he was done, I signed the paperwork, wrote the check and left. Very easy. Would have taken 30 minutes if they were not so busy.

Mike-
A Yamaha(or Honda or Suzuki) with an extended warranty should still be able to be serviced by ANY authorized dealer. Your friend may have an extended MAINTENANCE contract on the bike, that is the only thing that would have to be brought back to the selling dealer.

Bought two quads from la cycle center so far, everything went perfect. No gimmicks and they have a lot in stock. They sell them for cheap because they don't have to haggle over a price for hours, basically you have to figure out what you want before you go in or call them...they pull it out and say here it is you either want it or you don't.
