BRC LAUNCHES FIRST ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL RECREATION/ACCESS VOTER GUIDE
POCATELLO, ID -- A national public land access group launches its first "Recreation Voters Congressional Scorecard." The BlueRibbon Coalition's voters guide is designed to educate its members on how federal legislators voted on recreation and access issues. The scorecard highlights Congressional "Access Pioneers" and points out those legislators who support more "Locked Gates" on public lands. Scorecard is available online: www.sharetrails.org/scorecard.htm

According to Clark Collins, the Coalition's executive director, "Most recreationists would rather not be involved in politics. Unfortunately, if we aren't politically involved, we will lose the trails we enjoy. Just as we must do maintenance on our equipment, we need to maintain our political involvement to preserve our access."

Don Amador, the chair for the BlueRibbon Coalition Political Action Committee, said, "I remember many years ago while on the trail in the Sierra that I realized 'all land use decisions are political decisions.' It was that epiphany that caused me to become a trail advocate. I am proud of this scorecard. It will help recreationists make the right decision on election day."

# # # The BlueRibbon Coalition is a national recreation group that champions responsible use of public lands. It represents over 1,100 organizations and businesses with approximately 600,000 members. The BlueRibbon Coalition Political Action Committee is a separate entity from the main organization.

Excellent post Vicki.
Kathy and I gave the MAX contribution to the Maria Garcia campaign even though we can't vote for her.

We'll be voting a straight offroad friendly candidate ticket this year.
