Well, we've all made it back from the first Gathering and I must say, what an incredible group of people!
Seldom does one ever see such a diverse group of people all enjoying themselves together whether they new each other or not. It didn't matter one bit WHO you were! People were sharing ice chests, bar-b-que grills, tow ropes, parts, tools, chairs, TV's... you name it!
Friends... That's the word... This was the weekend of friends! If you didn't make any new friends this weekend then you missed out! You couldn't help it! Everyone was just plain friendly! My weekend would simply not have happened at all without some incredible friends! You guys know who you are. I am eternally greatful for you. Glamis, without friends just wouldn't be Glamis at all.
So, to all my friends at Glamis I say, "I love you, man." and to all the friends I plan on meeting at more Glamisdunes Gatherings I say, "I can't wait to meet ya."

Let me be one of the firsts to say I am really looking forward to going to the Nov 1st outing. Its been a long time since I felt like I missed out on such a grand event. I am sure some of the FEW people who were on the board over the weekend can say the same thing. We sat here and felt like we missed out. I was supposed to be going with a friend of mine for Nov. 1st but due to some family obligations he probably wont be able to make it. For the last couple of days I have been thinking of not going but after reading some of todays posts and what you have just written and I am now even more hellbent on going. I don't see how I could miss another one of these gatherings. I am sure over the next couple of days it will become even more apparent of how much fun was had as more and more stories start to appear on the board. They will probably be fun to read and at the same time make me wish even more that I was there. I do know one thing for sure... IT WILL GIVE ME THAT GLAMIS ITCH. It will make me sit at work and wish I was there. It will induce dreams that only Glamis folk have. It will make me search for countless ways to explain what exactly Glamis is to friends of mine that have no idea. It will make me go out and look through all of my stuff to make sure I am ready to go even though my next trip is 5 days 10 or even 20 days away.

I look forward to meeting some of you in the future. Until then cheers and thanks for the great stories. They keep us alive until that next trip.

Sounds like a great bunch of peeps and we did get to meet a few of ya at the booth at SSSS like Wayne and Kerin who are really nice people. We sadly missed the first gathering as did downhillin1 and can't wait until the gathering on the 1st. VOR, you make it sound like so much fun and knowing we are welcome as part of this dune loving group is great. Thanks to all of you that make those of us new to the group feel so welcome.
Downhillin1, hope to see you tomorrow night at the 909 Hump Day Happy Hour. It's so ironic that the friends you normally go with aren't going so you question whether or not to go on the 1st. We are in the same boat as our normal group has kind of dwindled over the years (finances, lost interest, etc.) and we really love going with a larger group (safety in #'s, more fun to party etc..) so we are soo looking forward to meeting all these great people on the boards too. Lets hook up at one of the happy hours then we will know each and have familiar faces to go with.

I was gonna go to poker run alone, but I found two other loners to go with. All you have to do is ask or post it.
