hehehe Thanks for the beer Robbie. Oh, I still post on the "other board" but decided a while back it was time for a change of scenery

What brought me here? Actually, I've been here for some time just not so vocal. What's more important (to me anyway) is what keeps me here (yes, you've all known these things all along; pardon my slowness)...

For one thing, Glamis calls to all types of people and I don't see any stereotyping here. Okay, there's an occasional bump and scrape, a guest shot of the Jerry Springer show every now and then, but that seems to be just to spice things up.

The bottom line is probably more simple though... Real duners help each other out of scrapes, defend their friends, offer their last gallon of gas to get you home... they ride fast, ride hard, go for the challenge, or just go for the party. It's not just the sand that binds them together, or a common enemy, but the people they've surrounded themselves with. And this place is just crawling with real duners... how could I not stay??? But like I said, you’ve all known that all along... some of us are just a little slow to pick things up

fhj, don't scare off the new moderator. Go easy man. I'm sure she will fit right in with all the real duners. You offering her a buggy ride is a great idea. A friendly welcome gesture. I'd supply the 3s to see that.

Sorry about the delay but every now and then my paying gig makes me put in some real time and then there's always the commute home... ah, life in southern California can be so exciting behind the wheel

Slap gotta thank da Pastor for takin Newbies, and for makin da Church such a Slapptacious place. Let's just say da Church is on a little vaca... Don't ya worry though, da Pastor promised sermons from time to time, and we gonna hold him to it .

In da process we was thinkin about creatin a forum where we could all easily access info on what be happenin out there. You know, what is da CBD sayin? How bout da Sierra Club? What be their next move? Or what be goin on with da BLM? What kinda tactics and strateeeeegy is goin on. The ebb and flow of the political and legal tides of the dunes and other areas. DID YOU HEAR DAT? DID SLAP SAY DAT? It must be da Puppy Chow...WAIT, HOLD IT, Slap don't eat dog food...Well, not without a glass of milk anyway...

Or, you can look at it as a "call to action forum"...Throw out them ideas, Slap knows dat there are lots of them out there...

So Slap went a lookin, and found hisself SailAway, a downright intelligent, slapptacious person who can bring dat info to us. Slap asked if she would be up fo it, and hot damn she said ok. BUT, Slap did ask dat she keep da torque wrench at home. She gots it goin on, and Slappy wanna thank SailAway for acceptin da role as moderator for this new forum. She be attendin all kindsa meetins and rubs elbows wit da other side quite often...And ya know, probably enjoyin it too . Whatta good thing...

There be some very important stuff headin our way regardin Mother G, and Slappy encourage everybody to stop on in to SailAway's neighborhood as often as ya can and read up on stuff. Slap heard some rumors about Mother G, and he hopes dat they ain't right. Somethin about finalizin issues and not signin the dotted line in time could mean mcnastified news for Mother Glamis.

Wide Open, about all I can say is I have a big voice just about everywhere I go... I don't tend to tread too quietly.

Plans for this section? That's pretty much up to everyone else... I'll just be throwing stuff out there every now and then. Slappy asked me to moderate this forum figuring that I might get some good discussions going and bring in some up to date information regarding Glamis issues... he said I could talk about other land use stuff too. I look forward to some lively conversation around here when that RAMP finally comes out for final review (yeah, yeah, any day now)!

And I ride my Oh Dessie when she's running. I got one of the Odyssey's with the better suspension (and no, that doesn't mean much *ouch*) and I surely do love riding it (you oughta see it jump). But she's feeling puny right now... something about lost compression so I'm out of commission until she gets a rebuild. We're having a buggy built but it probably won't be sand ready until the end of the season, poor us.

One thing's for sure, I'm glad to be here! And yes Slappy, I promise to leave the wrench at home .
