does any one know what the compression on a stock banshee is?
SANDFANATIC
Around 125 psi.
ari93
thanks dude im getting aroun 130-135, so i guess thats not my prob. do you know wtf would make is bogg and sputter at low rpm.
SANDFANATIC
Have you tried to clean your pilot jets?
ari93
no, but hopefully thats it
SANDFANATIC
I say while you're in there, clean the carbs out completely. That way you know the needle, main jet, slide, float, and pilot jet are all in good working condition.
CripKnievel
definetly the carbs. pilot jet for sure, even if only one is clogged it would do that.

I always thought Banshees were supposed to bogg and sputter at a low rpm, maybe it's just me? laughing.gif I just keep 'er on the pipe.
ari93
ha ha ha! very funny, not. so what do you have a four stroke?
Fireballsocal
I would inspect the reeds while you have the carbs apart. If the bike is older or hasn't been well maintained, the reeds could be out of spec or worn. You might also have one fouled plug. When you start it cold, does it smoke out of both exaust pipes?
ari93
as a matter of fact. my right pipe is smoking a hella of alot more but i think its my crankseal
ari93
i had only about 30min of riding time on my plug when this happened
ari93
thanks peoples ill check you latersssssssss and the carbs

Did you say stock banshee? I didn't know there was such a thing. icon_surprised.gif You need to re-jet and pipe that beast.
ari93
