According to my calculations, it was 55 times more likely that an attendee at the Dec. 8 Chargers-Raiders game would be arrested than a duner during the Thanksgiving weekend in Glamis.

So, does the National Guard clear out the View Level after the third quarter? Clear out the parking lot immediately after the game and check to see who is intoxicated at the exits? Check licenses and registration on all vehicles coming and going?

Maybe do nothing because NFL game volence is a necessary evil balanced against profit and no profit (at least to the authorities) is made in Glamis.

A myriad of political forces are at work regarding Glamis. Maybe even better than 55 times the opposition to our local NFL franchise and its acceptable crime.

So the game goes on with no effect from the attendent crime and the relatively mild (in comparison)weekend in the ISDR goes to press sounding like Hitler invading Poland.

Maybe the Imperial County Sheriff needs a sense of perspective? Anyone have his donor list from the last election?

That's a great response! Why not submit it to the source? I've submitted three or four times, and they've published what I wrote (far less eloquent than yours) each time:

Poiks:

A revision in the arrest count at Qualcomm Stadium (final police blotter) has required me to recalculate. Not 55, but 98 times the potential for crime per participant hour at the game versus at Glamis for the Thanksgiving weekend.

As soon as practical, I will forward this to IVPress Online.
